Tokimeki Memorial ~Uneaten Chocolates~ - 23

Published by Hinano at 7:37 pm under Tokimeki Memorial

So while halfway through the episode I called what was gonna happen the moment Rikus mom said “We need to talk about something important honey” and you know in anime parents never show up unless it’s something to do with the family moving, divorcing or adopting a loli. So anyway it’s Valentine’s Day in the Tokimeki world and everyone’s wondering who Sayuri will give chocolates too. Unfortunately they discover that she has never given chocolates to anybody in her life.

But as fate would have it (and by that I mean….as if we didn’t see it coming a mile away), she IS going to give someone chocolates this year…and if you’re been under a rock for the last 2 months, it’s obviously Riku. He even spots her at the supermarket purchasing ingredients to make it! However one day after having a chat with yakuza-chick (who gives him an early giri-choco XD), Riku spots Sayuri giving a chocolate to Sakurai-kun. What he doesn’t realize…is she was asking Sakurai to “taste” it and see whether it would be good enough to give to Riku. *Headdesk*

To make things worse, when Riku gets home he finds out that his parents are moving again. The next day all the girls are going nuts giving guys chocolates. Mo-chan gets rejected by Inukai as usual. Poor girl. Mina and Tsukasa of course give Riku their chocolates, and even Riku’s friends get giri-choco which makes them cry manly tears. However….everytime Sayuri tried to give Riku her chocolate, someone would interrupt or she would be to embarrassed to give it to him in front of everyone.

Eventually she goes to emo in the classroom and then both she and (emoing) Riku hear the shuffle of leaves from the wind and then they both go to that tree they always meet at. So while there Sayuri decides to give Riku her chocolates…however before she can, Riku interrupts her by telling her he’s moving next month. He then says “Have fun with Sakurai-kun” and then he runs off. Sayuri is shocked and she drops the chocolates on the ground, staring speechlessly in the direction where Riku ran off.

Upcoming Attractions: Sayuri enables “now or never” mode.

    Damn it!
A so obvious outcome for Sayuri and Riku…
As teh pace that Ryu goes, I’ll have to see the RAWs for these last 3 episodes…

God dammit Riku, be the man for once in your life

A twist of fate. never see that coming.
Tasting the chocolate was a bad idea. I am sure whatever the chocolate taste turnout to be Riku will finish it and whatever she cook will turnout fine.
    Only three more episode.

If Riku watched any anime, he’d know that moving means absolutely nothing because you never move, just the parents. If anything, of he were to move, it strengthen Sayuri’s longing for him. :P By the time he returns, she’ll be ready to hop into the sack with him. It’s a win-win situation all the way around.

BTW, is this a 24 or 26 episode series?

    It’s 26 episodes.

“now or never” lol, reminds me of Bon Jovi’s “Its my life”. Anyways, I have a feeling this series is gonna go a lot faster than it usually is in the last 3 eps. Anyone else share these feelings?

    Hinano’s quote:

“Riku spots Sayuri giving a chocolate to Sakurai-kun. What he doesn’t realize…is she was asking Sakurai to “taste” it and see whether it would be good enough to give to Riku. *Headdesk*”

As a comment, I would add “D’Oh!!!” at the very end of the quote (which I am not asking for) for Riku not hanging around a bit longer to hear what Sakurai and Sayuri really said together. :)

That Inukai really “tightens my jaws*”!!! >:(
(*See Hendriepedia.com under Show dictionary, under letter “T” & “J” and find the quoted word)

He rejected Mo-chan! What a jackball*!!!

If I were him, I would NEVER reject her!

She’s a very nice and sweet girl wanted to be loved by someone.

I thought Inukai would finally warm up to her but no he’s still a dick. So much for character development.

Thanks, again, for the summary. Ryoumi takes their sweet time with the fan subs and my japanese is no where near as great to understand all the complexities of normal japanese in a typical episode. Can’t wait to read next week’s summary. Maybe start getting the RAWs :)

Hinano, I think Eleutheria meant to say that your blog’s hosting website url has been hijacked (anyone attempting to browse http://www.minandehazukashii.com will be redirected to http://landing.trafficz.com/index.php?domain=minandehazukashii.com , which looks like one of those stupid search engine sites run by some cybersquatter). Better give JP a heads up

  19. Hinano UNITED STATESon 15 Mar 2007 at 7:56 am

Yes that’s if they’re browsing “MINANDEhazukashii” rather than MY site which is “MINAIDEhazukashii”

Oh I stand corrected, perhaps it was more of a case of a trap similar to going to whitehouse.com instead of whitehouse.gov when looking for the US Presidential Palace.
