Sumomomo Momomo - 21
This week was pretty awesome…
hell even JP got pumped. It pretty much followed the manga story and was actually one of my favorite parts of the whole arc. The focus was mainly on the past of Iroha, Hanzou and TenTen. Anyway the next match Iroha volunteers to fight and says she wants to do her revenge on TenTen who ruined her life. Basically TenTen pretended to be all nice to her when she was a kid, but in reality she hated Iroha and because of her Iroha’s clan left her…all except for Hanzou.
TenTen’s “jutsu” is basically she uses like “chakra strings” (if you’ve watched Naruto she basically has the same powers as Kankurou/Chiyo.) She can control her “army” of men but it doesn’t appear like they are too happy being her men and being used like the way she (ab)uses them. After Iroha and Hanzou defeat the army (in the manga Iroha used a similar jutsu but here she just fought with her sword), TenTen decides to resort to verbal cruelty to win. She starts by saying how Iroha likes Hanzou and Iroha yells out that he is a brother to her and that they have no romantic relationship. (This crushes Hanzou’s heart but he says he knew it all along.)
However, immediately after, TenTen yells out that the person Iroha likes is Koushi. This shocks both Koushi and Momoko and TenTen continues to say things like “oh you like him because he’s the oniichan type! and you wanna go on dates with him and have him pat you on the head!” Iroha becomes helpless and begins to cry. Eventually Hanzou gets back up and yells at TenTen to stop it. TenTen gets extremely pissed and uses an attack on both Iroha and Hanzou and almost slices Hanzou’s head open. However, Iroha snaps out of it and protects him. They have a fight of tiger vs snake but before Iroha can get her butt kicked, Momoko jumps in and stops it, claiming that their side has lost the battle.
TenTen continues babbling on that teasing Iroha is fun and then Momoko walks up to her and slaps her in the face. She then yells at her on how dare she play around with a girl’s feelings and that she should know as a woman how much that can hurt. Momoko also explains to Iroha that her love/marriage to Koushi is all one sided and that he has never returned her feelings…therefore she has no reason to feel guilty. Koushi upon hearing this, feels horrible because he realizes that all this time Momoko smiled for him but always felt that way inside. TenTen gives up the “2nd potion” for them anyway and walks away basically thinking back how Hanzou was the only guy who actually noticed her “true side” rather than the fake persona that she showed everyone.
So basically yea…the reason TenTen hated Iroha is because she was jealous that Hanzou chose Iroha over her. Anyway, Momoko and Koushi proceed up the steps to face the last tiger clan guy who’s got too many muscles (GAR?) for his own good. Maybe we should nominate him for SaiGar next year or something. Oh and also when Koushi helps Momoko climb up there’s like this “sparkle” when their hands hold. It felt so corny. For some reason the manga did it better I dunno XD.
Upcoming Attractions: The final battle. I’m confused though, wasn’t this show gonna be 26 episodes? what are they gonna do the last 3??

Haha, in Naruto, “TenTen” used chakra strings too, to manipulate her armory of weapons =P
ooh yea I forgot haha , how nifty
Thank goodness this episode came out better than the last one. I agreed with what you said about the last episode, they really didn’t translate it well from the manga. The whole manga art was awesome at this part so thank good they did Iroha’s part good. Too bad the anime comes off so much cornier. They make the “drama” look like fail in the anime overall, where it’s win in the manga.
Yea for some reason it comes out…cheesy in the anime. Maybe because the anime tends to give it a humorous twist so when it tries to get serious it’s kinda hard to picture it that way.
I can’t believe how fast this episode went… it didn’t feel like 30 minutes (or is it 22 minutes?). I thought the helping hand scene didn’t feel so corny because it was a good follow up to Koushi’s realization that Momoko really felt her love was one sided.
Looking forward to the next episode.
Hey, is it just me or are out names (and country flags as you used to have) no longer appear?
