Kanon - 23

Well that was…different. When the REAL Sawatari Makoto showed up the first thing I said was “hey it’s like a Makoto look a like with the same seiyuu doing the voice….wait wtf?” I kinda like though the way KyoAni handled the Ayu scene. They actually did a “continuation” and had Yuuichi go “I WONT ACCEPT THAT WISH” while in TOEI she’s like “ok forget me” *sprouts wings and disappears leaving a crapload of feathers behind*.

I also liked the line “Isshouni taberareta Taiyaki wa oishikatta” or whatever was in the TOEI version. I especially loved the Abenobashi parody of that line.
(Okay sorry I know this isn’t funny but after seeing Kanon then watching Abeno I almost peed my pants.)

This also gave an extra Nayuki CG! I mean scene and showed that she was able to get outta her slump thanks to Kaori’s support. (Not sure if that’s how it happened in the game. At this point all my memories of the Kanon game are a blur.) Poor Nayuki though…TOEI actually felt bad for her that they gave her a pity kiss scene with Yuuichi but I guess they wanted to keep Kanon incest free in the KyoAni version. But hey at least she got to hug him, the poor gal.

So my prediction for next week is that Ayu will wake up/come back waiting for Yuuichi on the bench. I kinda liked Yuuichi finding Ayu in the hospital in the TOEI version so I hope KyoAni will do something along those lines too. That would be nice…and from the preview it sounds like all the “happy” endings for the rest of our harem gals (except poor Makoto.)
Upcoming Attractions: The end of the dream.

That actually was Makoto’s ‘happy’ ending. ^^
Yeah, that says something about how the writers felt about Makoto - no really ‘harem’ ending possible with her, so they went the ‘disappears from his life’ route instead. It’s a bit of a pity, really… although I’m not that much of a Makoto fanboy either. Mai sure got the shaft; after that incident, she’s vanished from the show.
I dunno wat to say, im simply… speechless after this episode, in a good way and bad way. It feels like, its coming close to the end already…..
“Its like a dream.”
Mai did get a scene in the last few minutes of the episode, along with Sayuri. And wasn’t U1’s alarm clock recording ’supposed’ to be the trigger to snap Nayuki out of emo mode? I guess KyoAni wanted the viewers to remember that there was a sick(?) girl with a blanket in existence since Kaori did mention about Shiori.
It’s sad that Nayuki didn’t get any love for this season. On a lighter note, I guess KyoAni always enjoy drawing Miruku…I mean, Makoto, from the long screentime she has.
Good Episode
Miruku or Mikuru?
Miruku was the one in the hentai version
Uh…my bad.
Wait, ‘hentai version’ you say? I’ll have to check it out. Lol…
I can’t wait for the last episode! I want to watch it now! The real Makoto scene was a surprise!
It IS like a dream.
A dream thats so spectacular that when someone wakes you up in the morning you want to kill them for doing so.
This show is awesome. And theres just one episode left!
[...] Kanon 23: After all the weeks of dullness and disappointment, at long last an episode has appeared that actually has some measure of power. It’s not that the content has significantly improved, but rather the effect of some well-placed background music, adding emotion to the scenes in which Yuuichi is unwilling to accept the loss of Ayu. I have to admit, though, that I wasn’t expecting to see the real Sawatari Makoto randomly show up at this point- or rather, I wouldn’t have been expecting it if Hinano hadn’t already mentioned it.
