Himitsu no Hanazono - 09
Really great episode this week and looks
like it’s gonna get interesting as far as “resolving the relationships” next week. So anyway since Wataru told Kayo to take a hike, she’s on a different assignment now and they got some prude old fart to replace her. The guy sits all day reading American Trashy Romance Novels and keeps telling the guys to “do their work faster if they want him to get out.” Osamu shuffles Satoshi out of the room and tells him “Go bring back that girl!” (LOL I loved that line in Japanese XD) At this point none of the guys know that it’s Wataru’s doing to have had her removed from the job.
Kayo tells Ryouko what happened and she tells her that Wataru is probably torn between wanting her and not being able to “have her” because of the whole “job/personal” relationship complex. Speaking of relationships, the annoying girl posts on a Hanazono Yuriko board asking about “Kataoka Tohru”. I THINK that was their father who died who was an artist or something. Anyway Satoshi’s been still trying to contact Kayo but she doesn’t answer his calls. In the meantime Hinata confronted Wataru and found out that Wataru was responsible for Kayo’s firing.
At one point though, Ryouko runs into Satoshi (for the 4327243th time) and goes to the cafe with him. She randomly grabs his hands during a conversation (thinking he was extending them out to her) and then Tanaka sees this and angrily walks in and sits at their table. Ryouko and Tanaka have their lovers quarrell and Satoshi uses the opportunity to escape. He finds Kayo coming out of her building and then has a short chat with her where he goes “you really like Wataru don’t you. You might as well give up because he only cares about Hinata.” He even asks if she would come back and Kayo just responds that her job told her to leave them and there’s nothing she can do about it…then she walks away.
One day while walking home Hinata runs into Satoshi and he asks “Do you love me?” (lol this creeped me out.) Satoshi says “of course you’re my little brother.” Hinata says that he really is greatful to have Satoshi, Wataru and Osamu as brothers and asks that they stop treating him all speical like he’s 5 years old. He then says he has to “do” something and ends up walking to Kayo’s house. On the way, Tanaka & Ryouko who are STILL at the restaurant (they were there all night lol) see him and barge into Kayo’s house as well and make nabe or something together.
Finally all the brothers go to pick Hinata up but he says he won’t go home and he’s gonna stay overnight at Kayo’s. Kayo is shocked as well as everyone else. Hinata yells that they should stop treating him like a kid and stop keeping secrets. He demands the truth and then Wataru tells him straight out that “you are not our real brother.” Hinata is in tears and goes “Oh I see” and runs out the door. Kayo grabs his coat and runs after him eventually finding him near a playground. There he says that he “figured” he wasn’t but somewhere deep inside he was hoping that his “intuitions” were wrong. KAyo tells him she’ll promise to keep it a secret and that he can cry all he wants tonight. Osamu who was watching all of this with Satoshi also began crying (on Satoshi’s shoulder lol.)
Upcoming Attractions: Someone’s getting married? Satoshi puts the moves on Kayo (this time for real.)

Hi, I stumbled on your blog while googling for info on Himitsu no Hanazono - just thought I’d mention this in case you thought I was a weird stalker or something. *laughs*
It’s really nice to see someone else blogging about this series! For the life of me I can’t figure out why I enjoy watching this series so much, since it has its flaws and cheesey moments, but I always look forward to the latest episode, to the point that I make sure to check Drama Addicts regularly for the new torrents. :p (And they’re surprisingly fast… I think this series airs on Tuesdays, and by Wednesday or Thursday they have the raw up for download already. 0_o) I haven’t watched episode 9 yet but after reading your summary it look like it’s going to be an awesome episode.
I avoided reading your summary since I have yet to watch this episode.
But
“Satoshi puts the moves on Kayo (this time for real.)”
REALLY??????!!!!!!!
MAN I CAN’T WAIT!!!
heehee that got me so excited!!!
awwwwwwwwwwww
Thanks for the good news
modorenai> haha I didn’t even know anyone else blogging this since I usually just check animenano and it seems other than random curiosity, im the only person who blogs non-anime stuff. XD it was a good episode and next weeks gonna rock!
ohphive> haha yea really I was soo sick of him and Ryoko!
harem a rebours… what a great otome game it would make ^^
I came across your blog a while back when Himitsu no Hanazono started and I have been meaning to make a comment on your entries, but I kept forgetting.
Did you also notice that Hinata is almost always looking sad or disturbed? I have been wondering why and now with this ep we know.
I don’t get Wataru whatsoever now, nor do I get Ryoko with her “infatuation” for Satoshi (poor guy!) either. Seriously I don’t see where she had any right to impose on the brothers first with the shabu-shabu and then with her problem. Now if only her and Tanaka would hook back up so that we all can be happy.
Okay~I’ll stop yapping now. ^^
Thanks for the summary! My gf watched it without me and then deleted it off the HD Recorder
“Upcoming Attractions: Someone’s getting married? Satoshi puts the moves on Kayo (this time for real.)”
Even though I defended my initial OTP of Wataru and Kayo last week, I think Satoshi and Kayo would make a cute couple.
And dammit, Wataru really gets on my nerves.
But wow, what an episode. I already thought that something like this would happen but I thought it really blunt that Wataru told Hinata like this, so cold and matter-of-factly. The scene at the end between Hinata and Kayo was sweet, cheesey, but okay as he needed the ‘motherly’ comfort.
You are the only one beside me that I knowof who blogs about Hanazono, I’m part of a dorama community and no one seems to watch it. Perhaps because it is a still currently airing series, but I have my doubts. The gushings I see about Hanadan are multiple and it is also currently airing.
Oops, I suppose I shouldn’t have put the “else” there - I’m not really blogging this series per se since I don’t exactly review it episode by episode - it’s more of I just sometmes randomly fangirl about it on my blog. :p
I finally managed to download this episode and watch it, and yay! It was as good as I thought it would be! When I first started watching this series, I thought Hinata’s mean attitude was kind of annoying, and it didn’t help that his acting was rather lousy, but I started to like him more and more as the show went on, and I really liked episode 9 because it featured so much of him.
(And it’s weird… he seems to be better at acting out the difficult emotional crying scenes than acting his usual cold self. 0_o)
So I think as of now, my ranking of the brothers goes, from favourite to least favourite: Osamu (he’s just so cute and funny!), Hinata, Satoshi and last is Wataru. Although I knew right from the start that it seemed as if Kayo and Wataru were meant to end up together, I don’t think he deserves her.
ewok> I’d totally play it. XD
wrex> oh noes! XD oh well i hope you found my summary useful
Scottish> Hanadan is soo overrated and it’s getting weirder every week.
modorenai> Yea after this episode Hinata is a lot more likeable than before when he seemed to get pissed off at everything for no apparent reason. For me the favorite would be Satoshi, Osamu, Hinata and Wataru. I actually liked Wataru at first but after like the whole “Im not Hanazono Yuriko” fiasco he seems really annoying.
I just finished watching Episodes 7-9 and I think this is a great dorama. This last episode was the best so far. I was wondering earlier how they were going to keep the plot going, but it seems that they have a lot to resolve now! I thought the ending of this episode was fantastic. Really enjoying your posts about Himitsu no Hanazono.
ohsry,… i didnt read the “please do not ask me where to download…” soo sorry!! k, u can forget bout the 1st comment^w^”
