Himitsu no Hanazono - 08
Well the drama is getting more dramatic 
and Wataru seems to be getting bitchier every episode. So one day when all the guys are in the living room they turn the TV on with news about how “Hanazono Yuriko” are 4 guys. Apparently that glasses guy who Kayo works for, was all like “this isn’t the deal I asked for! All this is doing is making their image worse!” So obviously he was the one responsible for all this, but unfortunately no one ever discovers that. He then suggests (or rather forces) Kayo to ask the guys to come out with the idea that “We wanted to preserve the Shoujo image which is why we had this secret identity”. They agree to do it once as well as a photoshoot and an interview.
Ryouko brings in makeup artists and photographers to get all their pictures taken. Personally I think everyone was made uglier except for Osamu. He was the only improvement lol. Anyway they take a bunch of photos and then Hinata requests that they have a “family” photo taken of the 4 of them in normal clothes because they don’t actually have any. After that’s all done with the guys get back to work. However, the moment that Satoshi steps out the door he gets mobbed with fangirls.
It turns out that the guys have all become like idols and it seems that their popularity is starting to lean more toward their looks rather than their manga. Phone calls keep coming in to ask them for more photoshoots and Kayo is forced to agree. Satoshi and Osamu are all up for it, however Hinata refuses and Wataru just gets more irritated. It goes so far that they have to put a police officer with a rope in front of their apartment building because they get mobbed at all hours when they come out.
At this point, Wataru tells Kayo that they only agreed to do ONE photoshoot and that she needs to let them do their work. Ryouko had also suggested some kind of botanical garden for “Hanazono Yuriko” but they reject it saying it’s a stupid idea. Hinata keeps telling Wataru to go easy to Kayo because lately he seems to be treating her very coldly. Hinata also thinks that Kayo has a crush on Wataru, and Kayo is unsure herself. He also asks Satoshi to teach him cooking saying that “it’s not like they’ll be stuck together forever.”
One night when Satoshi and Osamu come back from the photoshoot they run into an angry Wataru. He tells them that they have pages due and they were out strutting around and wasting time. Osamu yells at him saying that for once they liked him for HIM rather than being in the shadow of “Hanazono Yuriko”. He says that he wants people to like him for “Osamu” not for “Yuriko” and that it’s an important part of being a mangaka. He also yells that how could Wataru have forgotten than when they tried to be mangakas under their real names and how rejected they were. Kayo yells at them to stop fighting and everyone but Wataru leaves the room.
As Kayo is heading out the door, Wataru says “Until you came, everything was fine. It seems ever since you stepped foot here, our routine has been destroyed. Please never come here again.” Hurt, Kayo runs out the door right past a confused Satoshi. Worried about her, he runs downstairs and stops her asking what’s wrong. She is crying but she pulls her hand away from him and says “It’s nothing, excuse me.” and leaves. At this point, Wataru is headed towards “that room”.
Upcoming Attractions: Perhaps Hinata is their adopted brother. He also runs off to Kayo’s place because of what Wataru said to her.

I agree with Kayo when she wanted to know what was up with Wataru because he kept alternating from treating her nicely then coldly. I thought he was being a big baby in this episode. What’s done is done and you gotta live with it. You can’t have hidden the secret all your life. The bastard made Kayo cry and leave… how many times has she been told to leave? Maybe he has some secret reason like along the lines of protecting Hinata, but maybe Hinata will be the one to show him up the next episode?
Yea I don’t know what Wataru’s deal is lately. First he’s the nice guy now he’s a dick! And as far as being told to leave…that’s like every other episode XD. I know he has SOME secret, I mean what’s up with that “room” he always goes into? Hinata looks like he’ll be taking some action next week which is good to see since usually he’s the passive one
You know what now I’m starting to lean towards SatoshixKayo. At first I was totally for WataruxKayo but Wataru is being such a whiny bitch.
It’s good to see that Hinata is starting to be more active, in this episode and will be more active in the next one
Me too boats. I was all Wataru x Kayo too but he’s been so whiny lately that Satoshi seems like the only good one for her. Oh well thats okay…at least maybe then she’d end up with the hot one

SatoshixKayo would make me pretty happy ^_^ … but I could also see Wataru making a comeback, with Kayo pulling him out of his secret room for a confrontation. Hmmm.

I think Wataru needs someone ditzy like Kayo. Even though Satoshi is the more hot looking guy, he is somehow as manager part of the world, while Wataru is so burdened with the secret (and I don’t mean that Hanazono is NOT a girl) that he needs someone who connects him with the world and Kayo - even though she also doesn’t have a certain feeling for life’s reality - would be his ticket.
Wataru has been protecting his brothers, esp. Hinata, for half of his life, that he now, where his world as he knows it is careening out of place, is turning bitchy, well I can understand that. He always had to rely on himself and it is difficult for him to turn to someone, and blaming Kayo is so easy. Think about what he gave up to protect his brothers?! He gave up being an artist of Art (with a big A) and I think even though manga is in itself an artform, he doesn’t really sees it as Art.
I hope Wataru sees reason, and from the looks of it, it will be Hinata who will help him along.
I started watching this show thinking it was a light comedy show. But wow, what have I gotten myself into. This now has tuned into what wikidrama would probably call “human drama” with some dark twisted secret from the past haunting the main characters…
I agree that Wataru has turned into a WOMAN. He was almost my fav. character at the beginning, but now…eek
and I’ve never really liked what’s her name. Ryouko? I thought the whole thing between her and Satoshi was just out of pity before, but now it seems like Satoshi’s really starting to like her. eww (no offense to anyone who likes her)
I hope Satoshi pulls himself together and realize that Ryouko belongs with the other dude. Her ex-fiancee.
So it looks like it’s Wataru’s turn to cry next.

I don’t like Ryouko either, and really, I think it’s natural instinct. I like Wataru and Kayo, and I think his secret and his liking for Kayo are in conflict, thus his inability to explain his emotional outbursts sometimes, that is, if you really call that an emotional outburst, cuz his facial expression doesn’t change that much.
While I really won’t mind Satoshi liking Kayo, I still hope for Wataru to be with Kayo…:P Hinata seems to like Kayo quite a bit too, eh? From the fact that he used to be so aloof and unconcerned about these things, to the way he has been telling Wataru off for being too harsh on Kayo. I mean, Hinata respects Wataru alot, doesn’t he? He doesn’t seem like the kind who would risk his relationship with Wataru for anything else in the world…
Wow, so I finally go to see this episode. I love this series, way better than HYD2. This episode was hilarious, esp their hair, I couldn’t stop laffing. Thanks for the write ups on the series.
Yeah I also agree with the whole Satoshi things, it’s kinds making me ill too. From a girl perspective, I think my heart stopped a bit when they did that last scene and she was walking away and they did a shot of him, he expression was WOW.
