Busou Renkin - 22
This was actually a
really good episode but because it went into Japanese that’s beyond my knowledge I only managed to catch half of the important dialogue. Whoever read them manga feel free to correct me because I didn’t catch everything. Also this week Kugiyama Rie guest voices as Victor’s daughter, Victoria. So anyway while Kazuki and the gang are doing important things, the other Senshi are once again battling Victor and getting all their asses handed to them on a silver platter.
Kazuki and the gang run into Victoria, Victor’s daughter who’s only alive because she’s a homunculus. Actually even her mother, who’s just a bunch of brains and a computerish voice, doesn’t know why Victoria became a homunculus. Anyway the “mother” tells them a story of how Victor was once one of the Renkin senshi but he got killed in battle. They decided the only way to save him was to replace his heart with a black kakugane. (And from what I understand that’s the only one capable of giving “life” to a person.) Once he was given that, he of course became all green haired and tan and destroyed everyone and the lab and that included his wife and daughter.
So grief striken I guess Victor wanted to kill all renkin senshi for doing this to him and having him destroy his only important things. Hey I sympathize with the guy, I’d probably go on a rampage too. So then the mom brings out (and when I say brings out, it comes out on a little stand), a white kakugane. She says this can turn a black kakugane dude back into a human. Unfortunately, there’s only one left and its impossible to create another one. So now Kazuki has to choose whether he’ll use it on Victor or on himself. Obviously Kazuki wants to use it on Victor and Tokiko wants Kazuki to use it on himself. Oh the drama.
Upcoming Attractions: ARE WE FINALLY GETTING SOME TOKIKO x KAZUKI ACTION OR WHAT!?? Who’s with me?

anyway, LMAO to that big victor. had he just gone against that retro-mecha in normal size it would look ok
but now that he grew like a power ranger monster. it just looks… not interesting anymore =_=

You pretty much got the Victor story right. The only thing I’d like to add is that Victoria was turned into a homunculous against her own will, but it’s not that vital anyways.
I said this last week and I’ll say it again. We are GUARANTEED to have a little romance. It’s imposible to not have something going on when the episode is called “Boy Meets Battle Girl”. Unfortunately, as many people have said, Watsuki liked to censor it. Luckily Xebec seems to be much more liberal. So we’ll see.

tnx for the blog it sounds like its not a bad episode i will watch this later today if i have time or tomorrow. it sounds pretty simler to the manga from what you have wrote.
is the bit where kazuki and Gota puts on the same clothes Papillon before entering the school still in it ? i remember that being quite a funny scene. i hope they didnt cut it out.

it was quite a funny scene in the original. also when they got to the school in the original tokiko wasnt with them. here is pics of the scene i ment from the manga so u can see what i mean.

i just finished watching the episode in full now and it was a pretty good episode but there was alot of little bits missing although the original story seems to be intact still they also missed the bit with papillon arriving in a limo and the school girls attitude towards pappillon being completely different to their attitude towards kazuki and gota. i cant wait for the next episode. but i do hope they dont miss to much out of it like they did this one (but they could miss out the bathroom scene for the next episode but with the way things are going they will proberly leave that scene in for some gay reason)
