So I randomly went to the Genshiken site today thinking “wasn’t the 2nd OVA supposed to come out this month?” and lo and be hold there it was. This is definitely a favorite episode because it includes my favorite chapters that had some Madarame x Saki content. God why did she have to pick the “blonde bishounen” when she can have the nice guy who means well! (I guess not everyone can be like me.) So the focus of this episode is on Otaku fashion. Saki starts by telling Ogiue that while it’s good that she got glasses, she could use an improvement in the clothing department..starting with not wearing men’s hoodies.

Madarame starts the “image change” by coming into the club one day wearing a new pair of glasses. It makes him look so much cuter :B (I have a weakness to megane boys.) When Saki sees it she bursts out laughing and going all like “Wtf? Why are you suddenly trying to look good?” She then goes to give them all a speech about how they should stop the “Otaku” wear and buy some real clothes. The guys say that they usually can’t afford it and she once again brings up how Kousaka can play games and buy figures and still look good.

Since Madarame has a huge crush on Saki, naturally he goes out to try to buy himself some “stylish” clothes. Unfortunately going into a non-cheapo brand name store is foreign to him so he’s a nervous wreck. When the sales lady walks up to him she scares the crap outta him. What’s worse is all the clothes are insanely expensive (god even for my tastes I wouldn’t spend $50 on pants!!) and he can’t seem to find anything that will please his wallet. He starts to remember back in the day how he was in junior high and nervous when buying his first ero-doujin :P.

Eventually he settles on a pair of pants and leaves the store. While walking home, he finds Saki with her friends. When he tries to say hi, she gives him the “Don’t interfere with my personal life you otaku!” look. He’s all like “see when I try to look out for you, you get mad and when i say hi you get mad too!” Luckily though Saki’s friends have to go and she then offers to go home together. Madarame thinking they were still “in a fight” makes her laugh and she says “ok then how about to make up for it we go have dinner”. Confused Madarame once again agrees and the two of them eat sushi.

While eating they discuss how Madarame is an “alien Otaku” and Saki is from “this other great planet” and when he hears that she had fun playing video games with Kousaka, he feels a little disappointed…that she’s kinda “getting on the Otaku turf”. Poor guy. When they get out of the train station they run into Kousaka who takes Saki home and Madarame says he’ll pick up the goods at Akiba for him. Poor guy walks away all rejected. The next day Madarame comes to the club in his new clothes and he gets Saki’s approval. Unfortunately, Ogiue has no such luck.

Upcoming Attractions: They were showing a maid cafe in the preview and in the chat they started talking about “cheap food”. I haven’t read the manga in like 4-5 months so I can’t remember what actually happens. I do recall though the weird American yaoi fangirls
