Tokimeki Memorial ~Full Circle of Nothing~ - 20

Published by Hinano at 5:08 pm under Tokimeki Memorial

So just when I thought this episode may provide some kind of resolution or any kind of plot movement, it made a full circle back into where it started from: absolutely nothing. I think those of us still bothering with this show are only doing it because “hey I’ve sat through 20 episodes of this crap and I wanna know who the hell he’s gonna end up with.” (Even though all signs point to Sayuri.) So like at the beginning he totally rejected Mina & Tsukasa and I was like “Whoa maybe we get something going here!” Then he was all depressed and so Sayuri took the lead step and asked him to walk home together. After their chat on the way home, he also had a man to man talk with Inukai. (And by man to man I mean Inukai almost punched him in the face.) It filled Riku fulla happiness and he apologized to Mina & Tsukasa and everyone lived happily never after. The only “small” progress was when Riku’s friends misunderstood thinking that he likes Sayuri and how he should confess to her (they suggested he write a letter.) Other than that it was like the week before but instead of emo Mina it was emo Riku.

Upcoming Attractions: Tokimeki Christmas!

This anime took a dump on my head, gave me the finger, and spat on my face as it ran away giggling. Damnit. Such a disappointment from something that looked pretty good at the beginning.

It looked pretty good at the beginning?

Honestly it did not to me, Riku looked the standard harem male lead with the others being the standard archetype (school idol, shy girl and tomgirl).

Something like that can be made interesting but either move away from the archetype or abusing the archetype to a parody of itself.

I kinda like all the stupid jokes at first with the chick and the running and I like some harem shows and romance/school life type of anime….but this just stretches on tooooooo long.
