Kanon - 19
Ayu-esque episode! It made me feel all warm and squishy inside *_* Especially the last part. Mmm 360 degree views of kissing scenes <3! So I guess because the whole Ayu/Nayu arc was done in about 3 episodes in the TOEI version I expect there to be a whole bunch of stuff in the next 7 episodes. I get the feeling we'll actually see more of Nayuki stuff because it seems like a LOT was covered in this episode about Ayu. On another note, I got "Fuyu no Hanabi" BGM on repeat *_*.
I’m disappointed TOEI never showed this scene. They just showed Yuuichi and Ayu meeting up at the tree but that’s about it. We don’t see her climbing it (although we do see her falling. Oops spoiler? O_o) So yea because of this we don’t know that “she likes heights”.
Oh man the TOEI kiss was SOOOOO lame. Oh yea also in the TOEI version, Nayuki was walking by as this happened so she saw the whole thing and got all upset and stuff. It seems in the Kyoani version she’s more “acknowledged” of the fact that Yuuichi and Ayu are the OTP here. Also in the TOEI version prior to the kiss, is when Yuuichi took Ayu to the scary movie. Ayu also mentioned in the TOEI one how she’s been waiting and waiting for him all this time. In KyoAni she apparently has no memory of like anything. Also earlier Yuuichi mentioned that Ayu’s school is the kind where you can go to it whenever you please. Why doesn’t anyone think this is weird? But I guess they will probably start to do so in the next few episodes.

Am guessing Nayuki’s story will end up slotted in somewhere between Ayu’s disappearance and her return; that’s the only way KyoAni can really showcase it at all, since it requires Yuuichi to be isolated.
Ayu and Nayuki were never really presented as romantic rivals in the game (since in Ayu’s path, Nayuki is a virtual non-entity, and in Nayuki’s path, Ayu has ceased to exist), hence the reason why KyoAni haven’t made anything of Nayuki’s jealousy here. It wasn’t in the game, and KyoAni are being extremely faithful to it thus far.
Btw, from this point on just ignore Toei. They rewrote the Kanon ending to such a degree that comparisons aren’t really going to be that apt.

I don’t get it…Is this an Ayu or Nayuki arc? Wasn’t Nayuki’s story before Ayu’s?
Actually, I’m pretty sure it’s at 26. The title of 23 is indication of the big revelation in Kanon, and not the last episode. The meaning of the title will be better understood once we get to that scene.

Oh, I have a request for your otome game reviews; though, it is not an otome game. You should play and review the Air series. The anime totally threw me off with the whole crow thing.
This was a good episode. But was it good as being able to eat taiyaki and meron pan today? I’m so happy I got to try taiyaki for the first time, おいしいです!

anyway, oh god the kiss scene is just magnificent. i was all giddy inside when it happened, purely because of how good it is (cinematography-wise). and sigh, nayuki’s being neglected? i like ayu slightly more than her, but she IS still my second favourite girl
I must say ayu tiptoed a lot in that scene. she probably grew like 10 cm or something too. o.o

Hey everybody! well in my opinion it was an strange/original kiss.. strange because she says”don’t look at my face, I’m sure it’s a mess with tears so close ,your eyes-yuuichi close his eyes, ayu too and they suddenly kiss!!O.O how they would know that they were to kiss¿? and original because the image starts with a tear and then the 360 degree wiews..XD well I looked on a screencaps before I download it in english and I was thinking yuuichi said to ayu that he loves her but when I watched the subs my face was (without comentaries)XD

Where is it saying 24? AniDB says 26. Either way, 24 or 26, it doesn’t matter to me, so long as it makes sense and Nayuki doesn’t get shafted.
I too thought the kiss was pretty spontaneous, I didn’t see it coming but I caught the possibility.
I was also impressed that they were able to kiss with there eyes closed with such a height difference, but my disbelief is in the OFF position when I watch this show so its ok.
And then they did that MATRIX 360 degree camera angle thing. Only no one was fighting.
I may not be educated with the previous versions but to me, Ayu is not that big a deal.
Also as far as I can tell she has no extra twist to her plotline that everyone else did except for the memory loss, but who doesn’t in Kanon?. I hope she does though, First girl was a fox in multiple ways, Mai was a demon hunter, Shiori had and still has a terminal disease. Everybody has there problems I guess.
Ayu kinda has problems too :B That’s why they’re saving her for last ^^; She’s probably the most twisty but I put her into the same sad category as Makoto
I feel my first comment was overly critical, I’m sure when put into the situation I could pull that off too…
