Kanon - 18
Ok now I’m gonna shut up about the cardboard knife. There it is, I’m happy. There really isn’t much to compare to the TOEI one because 90% of this episode wasn’t even IN the TOEI episode. (the 10% would be that cardboard knife scene along with her telling Yuuichi about doing so.) The rest of the episode, including ther school lunches and the birthday party wasn’t there. Actually Jun freaking cracks me up. Him and that white Elvis suit. Jun > Yuuichi. Hands down. On another note:

So, did Shiori die or what? Spoilers, plz kthnxbai.
We don’t know yet. In the game, her fate is only revealed a few weeks later, in the spring. It’ll probably be the same here - we’ll find out what happened to her when Ayu and Nayuki are through.
Yea I have a feeling (based on the Mai arc) that all the final “conclusions” are gonna be saved for the end. I think TOEI did something similar.

No, they might start parts of Nayuki but Ayu and Nayuki arcs are very diferent and cannot be mixed.
I honestly don’t even remember WHAT Nayuki’s arc is other than “Yuuichi please pay attention to me damnit!” TOEI didn’t really go much beyond that.
In Toei`s Special OVA Kanon Kazahana which came after TV-series Shiori is well alive and healthy.Even Makoto lives on the mountain meadow as some kind of half-ghost and she is able to talk with Amano.I don`t know about the game,but in Toei`s anime there wasn`t anything that can be called as Nayuki`s arc.If KyoAni gives us one,i`m glad.
Its actually the opposite Hinano, Nayuki completely shuts down after a certain event.
It seems TOEI never bother to go over her arc.

Yuuichi seems pretty attached for this one. Is he gonna get more and more attached to the girls as the story goes on or was shiori just special…
Anyways, I didn’t feel much from this episode. I don’t feel like the music did it’s job to create the appropriate mood, thus failing in my eyes.
OMG, in the preview: “boku no koto wo wasurete kudasai”
i thought she said “wasurenaide kudasai”
I just watched it. From what everyone was saying, I was expecting Shiori to go psycho-Higurashi-crazy with the boxcutter right in front of Yuuichi. Shiori didn’t, though. D;
Unfortunately for us, I doubt there’ll ever be Higurashi-level-of-violence in Kanon. (We’ll just have to wait for the 2nd season of Higurashi though.)
Considering how Makoto vanished just a blink of an eye, I wasn’t particulary surprised when Shiori just disappeared at the end of the episode. Not a very good way to conclude her arc, but it does leave room for her potential ‘revival’…OVA anyone?
Btw, Elvis Jun was hilarious. I think he was the only one who was truly having fun at the party. Nayuki was definitely jealous when Yuuichi told her about Shiori.
Can’t wait for the next episode, new arcs always make me excited. The ending of this seemed rather abbrupt, but considering that the real ends of the arcs aren’t until later, I’ll wait and see.
(And hey, atleast Shiori didn’t get him on the lips, I’m pretty sure that kiss was on the cheek.)
Yea it was on the cheek. I hope next week we get the Ayulip one
I haven’t seen the game or the previous animes, but I hope they go into Nayuki’s arc farther than what your all describing…
Because I always thought Nayuki was just as important as all the other characters, I’m sure theres no way that Nayuki’s arc will be as ridiculously awesome as Mai’s, but it’ll be awesome in its own way.
How many episodes are left?
So I can estimate how much time they might invest in Nayuki, in contrast to Ayu’s arc.
For personal reasons I liked Shiori/Kaori arc best. But Mai is still may fave Kanon girl.
