Himitsu no Hanazono - 02

Published by Hinano under Himitsu no Hanazono

I’ve been preoccupied with late night work shifts hence why today I will attempt to blog all of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I’m glad to see a few of you guys are keeping up with this drama because it’s actually one of the only 2 dramas I picked up this season. I didn’t like anything else I watched unfortunately. Anyway the episodes shows that Osamu wants to give a girl he likes a present and it’s a weird looking kabuki-ish mask. His brothers tell him that’s not the kind of present that will make her happy and he complains why not. They basically tell him that he’s an otaku and the crap he collects isn’t going to interest girls. Continue Reading »

Tokimeki Memorial ~Sensei Love~ - 15

Published by Hinano under Tokimeki Memorial

Umm this week’s episode had nothing to do with the story so here’s a brief summary. Haruka sensei is down lately because she doesn’t feel she can properly control her class (which keeps arguing about them doin a Maid Cafe for the school festival.) She then joins an online game a teacher in the school has created, which uses avatars (kinda like Cafesta in japan.) There she meets a boy who she has a bit too much fun with and that also increases her good mood at school. However one day she admits to this boy online that she’s a teacher and her class isn’t fun and that there’s a serious person in her class who she thinks is better and nicknames her “A.S.-san” (Amamiya Sayuri) He then logs off and that puts her in a lousy mood until she gets to class and everyone surprises her and yells Happy Birthday! and gives her a boquet of flowers. In the end the twist is that the boy is not Sayuri, like the teacher thought but rather the sensei who created the game in the first place. Oh how cheesy and romantic!

Upcoming Attractions: I think they’re FINALLY having the freaking school festival and the infamous play.

Himitsu no Hanazono - 01

Published by Hinano under Himitsu no Hanazono

This is the other drama I decided to pick up. When I read the story premise on d-addicts wiki I had to watch it. Basically the premise is a magazine writer gets laid off and the first job her boss recommends her to is being an assistant of a “female” mangaka “Hanazono Yuriko”…but little does she know who this person really is. Please do not confuse this with the old 80s anime or the yuri manga; this drama is not based on either one. When I heard the opening for the drama I bounced up & down cause it happens to be Amuro Namie’s new single “Baby Don’t Cry”!! :D Continue Reading »

How dare they! Me and the winter season are in a fight.

Published by Hinano under ▲Current▲

How dare they rip off such an important icon!

So after watching the first 6 minutes of Hidamari sketch, I have concluded that the winter anime season fails with flying colors. JP says it always sucks but I care to disagree with shows like Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora, Air, Suki na Mono wa Suki Dakara Shou ga nai!!, Yumeria, Nanaka 6/17, Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto, Full Metal Panic! S1, Onegai Teacher, and the original Kanon (which at the time I thought was good but anyway.)

But yea as a quick breakdown:

Saint October: Lolithon. They even have loli in the titles. Oh and there’s a shota just to show that they’re equal opportunity pedobears.

Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight: Should also be known as Gakuen Chubtopia Manabi Loli…featuring the fattest anime lolis since Kujibiki Unbalance…and I mean the one in Genshiken, not that crappy TV spinoff from last fall.

Kyoushiro to Towa no Sora: You know episode 1 was promising when it had like bishounen and kissing and the voice actress who voiced Karin…but then in episode 2 it was like lesbians and fanservice and despite the prince on a horse and “come with me” it failed to make up for the damage it did in the first 15 minutes. Not even the preview can convince me to continue watching this show.

Hidamari Sketch: How dare they rip off MY Kanon! :x And even though she made Easter Island statues out of snow the whole show was retarded and gave me nostalgia of Sensei no Ojikan. And they abuse blushing more than in Happiness!

I didn’t care about any of the other shows and the only thing I have hope left for is the Densha Otoko bunny girl anime (which should be out already?) but it’s gonna be a hot or not kind of deal.

However, the drama scene for January seems more promising so I might be picking up a few other ones to add to my list.

Hana Yori Dango II - 02

Published by Hinano under Hana Yori Dango

And so the plot thickens when Shigeru randomly decides that she’s gonna be in love with Tsukasa. So during the party Shigeru is called on stage and she has no idea what’s going on. She also doesn’t act like a typical “ojou-sama” would and she has manners or anything of that sort even worse than Tsukasa. The thing is though, she can sing AND play piano. To spite her, Tsukasa’s mom makes Tsukushi go play but out of anger Tsukushi just randomly punches keys until his mom tells her that they’ve “had enough”. Tsukushi storms out of the room with an angry/confused Tsukasa after her. Continue Reading »

Kanon - 15

Published by Hinano under Kanon

Everytime I watch Kanon I have the urge to run into my freezer and throw a taiyaki into the oven. This time I managed to hold myself back (mainly because I was full of grapes I had eaten earlier.) Anyway this “kinda” concludes the Mai arc. The actual conclusion is with her and Sayuri graduating but I guess they are saving that for a little later and probably after Shiori’s arc. In the TOEI version of the concluding episode for some reason they used really THICK lines around everyone so it looked really weird. Continue Reading »

Sumomomo Momomo - 13

Published by Hinano under Sumomomo momomo

This week’s episode sucked for many reasons and the main one being that they changed the opening and no longer do I start my Thursdays with “Kozukuri Shimasho!” The other reason it sucked is it was a filler. I actually read the manga as far as the magazine chapters go (February 2007) and it’s really awesome. Unfortunately based on what happens I think they will end the anime right on the major arc that happens in volumes 4-6 so I guess to fit the episodes in properly they’re sticking some fillers in this week and it looks like next week as well. If you watch the opening and ending carefully you can see small details that give hints to what happens such as the kitty Momoko is holding, the shoes she has, and the shadows of the “bad guys” as well as the fact that Tenka is all over the place.
