Kanon - 17

Umm wow. I had no idea Shiori came to school for a few days. That was soooo not in the TOEI version. In that one she just wore the uniform for a bit to “pretend” during her date with Yuuichi. Oh yea the image on the left above is what woulda happened had you chosen the Shiori route. I guess the closest KyoAni gives us is “please be my oniichan”. LOL that made me laugh out loud .

As I bitched last week..I shall continue this week….WHERE IS THE CARDBOARD KNIFE SCENE?? Ok well since it appears the Shiori arc is continuing into next week, I’m going to hold my bearings before throwing in the screenshot. It’s driving me up the wall…there’s no way they could cut out such an important scene. If they do I’ll have to slap them
Upcoming Attractions: Happy Birthday Shiori. Hope you make it past 12!

No, it’s the mutated H5N1 virus. With a bit of AIDS mixed in.
*fires e-water @ Hinano :V
i have to say… that is the best snow effects i’ve seen in any animes by far. its so beautiful!
Relax, the boxcutter part is not suppose to come up until the the last day of Shiori’s arc,
according to original settings. The night of Shiori’s birthday is when she confessed to U1 about trying to kill herself b4.
And on side notes: i’d still wouldn’t surprise if they decide to put that scene vaguely, since its gets kinda tedious in Japan when it comes to showing “teen wrist slitting” on public TV.
Hopefully KA will find a way to compromise with those annoying terms as much as possible.
Sry for double posting but the last post for some odd reason cut off the rest of my comments.
>>POTENTIAL SPOILERS
In anycase, for Shiori’s disease, its not unusual for some inherited disease/body function disorder that leads to death comes into play. I no one for instance, where a person’s bone growth is slower than the inerds, meaning that the rib cage couldn’t grow fast enough to allow more space for the organs’ growth. Eventually, once that person grow up to a certain age, the organs simply cannot withstand the pressure from the bone and the person dies. B4 this happens, the person is perfectly healthy and can jump and run like normal. I’m not saying Shiori is this case (it wouldn’t make sense for her to hav this anyway) but just listing an example.
And the 12am thing, no she’s not gonna die right there. The 12am is merely the promise between Shiori and U1, where Shiori will withdraw herself from U1’s life, and awaits her death on her own so that U1 “wouldn’t suffer as bad if she doesn’t die in front of him.”
I thought I saw the knife over in Shuffle Memories. I think wasshername Kaede was playing with it.
ahem it’s a magical curse(cue Evil Witch): the girl will die before her xx birthday! buahahaha!
cardboard knife? this is soooo lame… Higurashi was at least good with the toys if nt chara design…
lol .. your review really funny!!but, i totally agree with you .. magic disease? ZOMG~~
Stop stressing, the knife will come. Like I wrote in your blog last week, Toei really rushed the Shiori arc - the knife scene is part of the big climax, which we simply haven’t worked up to yet. It’d not only be incongruous to include it at this stage of the story, it’d wreck the whole composition of the arc. The point to the scene in the game was that it served as such a stark contrast to Shiori’s cheerful demeanour and her seeming acceptance of her fate during her interactions with Yuuichi. The knife scene’s purpose was not merely to demonstrate the importance of Yuuichi in Shiori’s life (his exchange with Ayu stopped her from killing herself), but also to underscore the incongruity between her public pose and her inner trauma. The scene occurs late in Shiori’s story specifically because it is calculated to shock - it is at total odds with everything the player believes he or she knows about Shiori up until that point.
So yeah, just be patient - the scene will come. It really _needs_ this sort of build up in order to work as was originally intended.
What ‘magic disease’?
It’s the Hinamizawa Syndrome which makes perfectly sane individuals go emo crazy and…okay, nevermind…I think I’ve just said too much.
Maybe the box cutter will be replaced with an oversized hachet…good times.
lol… is Shiori form Hinamizawa? or Mai perhaps too? It’s a conspiracy! (sorry , wrong anime…)
Hahhaha Hinamizawa
ok ok I promise I’ll shut up about the box cutter
Yup, the reason why everyone is going *poofdead*, *suicidegrr*, and *magicdisease-o-doom* is because they’re all from Hinamizawa. xDDD Not only is this season two of Haruhi, it’s also season two of Higurashi. lol
Yeah, I DO want to know what the hell kinda disease Shiori has. >_> Stupid anonymous disease thing.
maybe that knife for the birthday cake ???
and Yyi .. you sure make me LOL very hard today ~~
anyway, it’s moving to see Yuichi despairing about how ce could be fighting for Mai and trying to hel Makoto, but is helpless against Shiori’s sickness… It’s about first time we see him so down… Even “Uguu girl” notices that…
I haven’t seen the games or any of the previous animes, so I’m very anxious to see that boxcutter thing. That sounds as interesting as how I felt during Mai’s arc when they found Sayuri murdered in the restroom.
That was Awesome.
Ok, not awesome as in “oh sweet, murder” but because it got me all hyped up about Mai’s reaction, and it was more than I had hoped for it to be. It was so satisfying to watch.
So now we come to Shiori, whos gonna die, so once again I’m just waiting to see the Kaori based secondary explosions brought on by Shiori’s death.
Its gonna be Awesome.
which brings me to a question… is Shiori or Kaori the one who needs Yuichi’s protection? Shiori looks like she accepts her fate without regret, while Kaori is desperte to separte herself from tragic reality…
