Himitsu no Hanazono - 03

Published by Hinano at 10:08 pm under Himitsu no Hanazono

I officially declare this drama better than Hana Yori Dango 2 >D!!! This episode made me dokidoki in all kinds of ways. Kayo’s looks over the character/layout sheets for the next chapter and tells the 4 brothers that the ending doesn’t make her go “kyun” or “tokimeki” (aka feel all fluffy inside.) She asks them to somehow redo it but when they ask her for suggestions she gives the cliches like “hugging on a ship” and “dying in the ocean for your lover.” When they ask her to think back on her experiences she says she hasn’t really had any in the last 5 years….but she counters them with the same question…once again sending Osamu into a frenzy.

She tries going to a scary movie with the 4 of them to get a “kyun” feeling but they are either bored, hopeless, wild or make no sense to her. She then decides that perhaps a romantic movie will be better and she sees some high school girls giggling over some new hit Korean romance movie. She runs into Hinata while there and starts telling him a story about her first love in junior high and how the first time they held hands was when the guy put her hand into his pocket, along with hers, to warm it up. Hinata says he doesn’t understand this feeling and when Kayo asks him why he doesn’t have any experiences like that, he says he can’t stand high school girls his age.

In the meantime, Wataru walks by a university and runs into an old friend of his. He starts telling him that he wants to have Hinata attend college because he feels bad for dragging him to do work right away after their parents died. At the college, which also appears to be some kind of an art institute, is that annoying girl who always interrupts Wataru when he draws. It also turns out she’s a friend/girlfriend? of the guy who keeps bugging Hinata. The guy says Hinata was his rival in some kind of a Mr. handsome (correct me on this) contest. Hinata says he was dragged into it and had no interest what so ever.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Kayo has asked one of the brothers to go see a romantic movie with her so that she could perhaps remember that “kyun” feeling. She said it was for work purposes only. Eventually the one who ended up going was a very irritated Satoshi. At the movie, he made her sit up in the very front row and because she couldn’t see that well she ended up falling asleep…and by the time she woke up she saw him crying and wiping his eyes with a handkerchief. After that they had dinner and they talked about how they both feel “lonely” and she said she’s envious of the brothers because she was an only child.

Afterwards, Satoshi asks her to come to his house. Oh yea in the meantime, Osamu’s been wandering around that food place where that young lady works who has the pimp or whatever. He’s even offered to sweep it for her all day and at the end she gave him a food leftover that brought tears to his eyes. Anyway once Satoshi & Kayo come back, it appears as if no one is home. He invited her to the balcony and when he noticed she was cold, he asked her to put her hand into his pocket. When she did he put his in there as well and asked her to close her eyes. When she did, he was about to kiss her but was interrupted by Hinata. Hinata then basically explained how this was all a set up because he wanted to see if it really would “move” him to see such an event. He said it didn’t and the two of them said “ok back to work” leaving a crushed Kayo.

She was so upset that she ran out of their house forgetting her coat. Wataru ran after her with the coat and then she explained to him even though Hinata didn’t mean any harm, it still hurts because it was an important memory for her. Wataru appologizes on their behalf, and then suddenly as Kayo steps back she trips on the sidewalk curb and Wataru catches her in a shoujo manga kind of way. This makes the both of them dokidoki, and apparently Osamu as well who happened to see the whole thing from a bridge not to far away. Oh yea also that ex-boss of Kayo’s ran into Tanaka but they didn’t show any detail of their conversation.

Upcoming Attractions: Satoshi & Wataru fight over Kayo.

Anything is better than HYD drama, which is the most over-rated drama featuring untalented JE actors, ridiculous situations, and tacky/tasteless sense of style.

I actually liked MatsuJun’s role in Kimi wa Pet but his role in HYD pisses me off. The First HYD was okay cause it was that “new” feeling but now its just recycled crap from season 1 with recycled story of “because of misunderstanding we must be apart”…..so yea watching this drama is a real refresher for me.

I’m a new commentor but I’ve been lurking around reading your summaries of Bokura ga Ita (thanks for saving me from watching that series :P).

However, I am very very happy to hear that Himitsu no Hanazono has not taken a dive for the horridly shoujo and sappy/dramatic end (the kiss scene preview was a bit surprising) and is still amusing and fun as always. Thanks for your summaries :D

    3rd epi’s out?
    yay!!!

I absolutely agree w/ your comment about HYD and KwP. I really enjoyed KwP eventho I don’t like what’s his name Jun as an actor, nor did I really like the main girl, but because of the story line and their personalities, the show was enjoyable.

I watch HYD for Shun :) he’s really cute in this show, as opposed to his role in that Detective Conan live action. They ruined DC w/ that one epi. *sighs* but comparing his Rui w/ the chinese version played by Vick, I think him being the better Rui somehow makes me wanna continue watching the show.

Yea when I think of shun I think of the violent guy from Gokusen haha so this is a nice refresher for me. Rui’s character is indeed one of the good things of the show..the only time I don’t like him is when he gets all infatuated with Shizuka.

Ha, ha, poor Kayo. I can’t wait to see this episode ^__^ And I suspected (and still do) that Tanaka was the one who left Ryoko for “Hanazono Yuriko.” Hmm …

I love how elastic Osamu’s face is, i.e. the scene at the end of the episode.

I think the doki-doki scene at the end of chapter 03 was beyond cheesy, but since the plot itself is unbelievable and never to happen in real life, I guess I could let that slide ^^ I really love how this drama decided to incorporate a main guy character who wouldn’t be considered to be “classically good looking”. Although I did like the actor in glasses like his character in Dr Koto 2006 (personal preference, really XD)

i love how everything is overdone in this, but not to the point where its stupid. the trip/catch scene was hilarious.

Actually, HYD 2 isn’t as bad as you guys put it. I do agree that Tsukasa is pretty much an asshole, but I’ll be able to put up with it since it is overall a great storyline/plot. Well, Himitsu no Hanazono is a very good drama so far; very promising! I can’t wait to see more of it.
