Kanon - 16

Lol the first few seconds of the episode… “I hate hospitals” and *nurse stares at Ayu with a “where have I seen you before look”*. Oh and I love the “Ayu doesn’t have a mom…so when she said parents maybe she meant her dad?” Anyway I like Ayu’s cute little red skirt. Oh well I guess changing clothes is okay…except it looks funny when I post CG comparisons :P.

But wahh Shiori’s story. She’s not one of the girls from Yuuichi’s “past” therefore she holds no importance to me and as I mentioned earlier I don’t like how she’s “sick” and her body is “weak” and she’s gonna “die” yet she’s prancing around in like freezing weather (and in the game wearing practically nothing.) However, the way TOEI handled this episode appeared better to me than the way KyoAni handled it.

TOEI may have cut out the school scene but I like the dancing scene they added (I dunno if that was in the game.) I also like the flashback that showed Kaori & Shiori in the hospital and how she got sick and all. KyoAni just skipped it all and judging from the preview I don’t know if they’ll include it? Also the INFAMOUS INFAMOUS knife scene. Hello? I didn’t include it in this week’s caps from TOEI cause I’m crossing my fingers hoping it’ll be in next weeks. If not I’ll have to do another bitching about that next week. All KyoAni gives us is “That was an important memory for me.” Hi, can you guys elaborate por favor onegai shimasu pojalusta PLEASE?

   Seriously, I’m still mad about the hairband being cut out. The boxcutter too though? Oh well, I like Shiori even less than doormat Nayuki, so I’m fine with her being blitzed through and getting some quality Ayu time in for the ending.

   Ayu’s hairband is not from the game. It was an invention by Toei.

   It just means more time for Nayuki and Ayu. And that’s what REALLY matters at this point.

   I am confused. Why do people keep saying “box cutter” whenever the Shiori arc is mentioned? Tell me, for I love spoilers. XD

    Because when she finally wises up to the fact that she’s gonna bite the bullet, she whips out the box cutter that she bought on the day she met Yuuichi and goes on a slashing spree. Kind of like Mai’s arc but with more blood.

    Maybe.

    Why oh why are they going so fast through Sayuri? They were able to improve on Mai’s arc by giving more time than they did in teh TOEI version. Mai’s arc in TOEI felt lacking and now it looks like KyoAni may do the same to Shiori my second favorite arc (first now being Mai’s KyoAni arc). I just hope this arc only starts off shaky like all the others have and then improves in the following episodes. Maybe they plan on giving more time to Nayuki’s arc which was one I felt should have been extended. They better leave Ayu’s arc alone it was perfect the way it was in TOEI’s version but maybe this time

    Keep her dead, it would be way more emotional and would make the goodbye scene actually worth something.

    KyoAni aren’t breezing through Shiori; it’s only that Toei cut a lot of the events from her story when they animated it and stretched what they did not cut out. Not really surprising, because Shiori’s story is the quickest of the stories to develop an overt romantic tone. Toei generally seemed to be trying to include as little non-Ayu romance as possible, and rather than rewriting Shiori’s story, just decided to heavily cut it. There’s a LOT more material for KyoAni to work with than appeared in this episode.

    That’s what I thoght cause I saw pics of Yuiichi and her like hugging and kissing haha. Thats why I dont like her…shes not a story shes just the “other girl to get with”

    Shame this episode is more of a rush for poor Shiori… Looks like they plan to sacrifice her arc for more Ayu and Naiyuki… Still maybe they’ll be nice and not butcher is so much ^^
