How dare they! Me and the winter season are in a fight.
So after watching the first 6 minutes of Hidamari sketch, I have concluded that the winter anime season fails with flying colors. JP says it always sucks but I care to disagree with shows like Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora, Air, Suki na Mono wa Suki Dakara Shou ga nai!!, Yumeria, Nanaka 6/17, Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto, Full Metal Panic! S1, Onegai Teacher, and the original Kanon (which at the time I thought was good but anyway.)
But yea as a quick breakdown:
Saint October: Lolithon. They even have loli in the titles. Oh and there’s a shota just to show that they’re equal opportunity pedobears.
Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight: Should also be known as Gakuen Chubtopia Manabi Loli…featuring the fattest anime lolis since Kujibiki Unbalance…and I mean the one in Genshiken, not that crappy TV spinoff from last fall.
Kyoushiro to Towa no Sora: You know episode 1 was promising when it had like bishounen and kissing and the voice actress who voiced Karin…but then in episode 2 it was like lesbians and fanservice and despite the prince on a horse and “come with me” it failed to make up for the damage it did in the first 15 minutes. Not even the preview can convince me to continue watching this show.

And even though she made Easter Island statues out of snow the whole show was retarded and gave me nostalgia of Sensei no Ojikan. And they abuse blushing more than in Happiness!
I didn’t care about any of the other shows and the only thing I have hope left for is the Densha Otoko bunny girl anime (which should be out already?) but it’s gonna be a hot or not kind of deal.
However, the drama scene for January seems more promising so I might be picking up a few other ones to add to my list.

Why don’t you try Nodame Cantabile? It’s the shoujo light in the midst of this loli-fest and is really good too.

Err….wasn’t this show always touted as the successor to that other lesbo show, uh….Kannazuki no miko? So it’s not surprising it goes right into lesbian fanservice. I know for sure I won’t be watching this. I don’t know why people like Kannazuki either when a girl who’s been raped by another girl ends up liking that girl. Talk about stockholm syndrome.
Kujibiki Unbalance TV is brilliant and is *truly* funny, unlike overrated crap like sumomomomomomomomomomomomomomomomomomomomoomomomomomomomomomomomo.
I wonder if all the people who are saying bad things about it have actually seen more than the promo?
Snow bunnies have been in other anime besides Kanon and Hidamari… ^^;

hidamari sketch is pretty mellow and nice in my opinion and i am definitely picking that show up since it’s the type of series i like, being slice of life and cute.
I do agree with the saint october judgment. Doesn’t stop me from watching it though.

Sorry, JP is right - the Winter season always sucks. Being able to take ONE good show a year from it doesn’t make it a good season, particularly when a lot of those shows weren’t THAT great anyway.
We only know about half the shows that will actually be starting in the Spring season this year, and it already looks far better than this seasons selection (though it’ll be sad to see Code Geass off the air, for a while at least).

She doesn’t “end up liking her,” she loves her all along. My advice: know what you’re talking about before bashing shit.
Hinano: my advice to you is to not watch Kyousora. It’s crap so far. But you know what you can do instead of watching it? … read funny blog posts about it!

I think this show may be more than just a chubby moe show, judging from its ep. 2. Too early to tell, so it might be prudent to withhold judgement of the show for now.
I saw a trailer for it which made it seem interesting and serious and worthy of watching but when I saw episode 1 my hopes were instantly crushed.

Also to add, You might want to try out Master of epic for some randomness or VVV for some cool yuri love. I am sure both might be better. And yes, nodame cantabile rocks my world.
