Winter Garden - Part 2
Wow okay so episode
2 came out faster than I expected so here’s the concluding summary. By the way don’t let the name of this show fool you. By episode 2 we’re way into spring now. Dejiko and Takurou are out on a date and Dejiko tells him that she finally got herself a cell phone. He asks for her number and since she forgot it at home, she calls to it (while blushing once again) and tells him to add the number to his memory. He tells her that he’s landed a job to write a script for something so he will be busy.
Puchiko’s been gaining fanboys at McDonald’s. She’s very nervous about her job and the boss tells her to relax while the other worker says “No..just look at your customers”. All her fanboys are all “MOEEE” when she does a stupid gesture like placing her hands over her head and leaning down. Dejiko in the meantime has been really fussing about her appearance and it made Puchiko happy/surprised to see her sister this way. One day she goes shopping and runs into Takurou’s….sister. Yay spoiler. Okay so she’s his sister but Dejiko doesn’t know this until the last 30 seconds of the episode.
The two of them want to get the same outfit but then Rabien Rose grabs it saying she really wanted it because it came with bunny ears. ^^; Dejiko never got the girl’s name but thought that they shared interests in common. She then decided to go grab something to eat and walked into McDonalds running into an embarrassed Puchiko. She’s all like “So THAT’s where you’ve been working! You should have told me!” A few days later, Dejiko’s co-worker spots Takurou and his sister out together and then tells Dejiko what she saw.
Dejiko does not react too shocked because as it turns out, Dejiko’s mother has called her and asked her to move back home to help her with her work. Dejiko thinks that since she will be gone Takurou will be able to spend time with his “girlfriend”. Puchiko wants to cheer Dejiko up so she takes her the next day to an art museum. Once again they get separated and Dejiko wanders until she sees Takurou and his sister walking around together. Eventually Puchiko finds her and Dejiko begins to cry.
Before they move, Dejiko attends Puchiko’s band concert at her school’s festival. This part was kinda weird because all the bandmembers except for Puchiko reminded me of Wal-Mart smiley faces. Also everyone in the audience, except for Dejiko, looked really stoned. During the recital Dejiko got a call from Takurou but she ignored it. The next day Dejiko took the last of her things, including a photo of herself and Puchiko in their cat cosplay outfits (like in the original series.)
As they were driving away they passed Takurou walking with his sister. Takurou saw her and started chasing after the truck until it hit a red light. He ran up to the window and yelled out to her on why she didn’t tell him about her moving. Puchiko tells the driver to give them a few minutes and tells Dejiko to settle her problems. When Dejiko gets out she sees his sister run up to him (her name is Aiko). His sister then says “Oh hey aniki (brother), is that your girlfriend?” Dejiko suddenly goes “Brother!?” Then she realizes her misunderstanding, blushes, and the show ends.
Final Thoughts: Well that was fast. Cute but fast. Oh I also wanted to point out that Aiko is voiced by the same seiyuu who voices Nanami in Bokura ga Ita. At the end of this episode was a short commercial for Hidamari Sketch but it looks like a big lolifest so it may not really be something I will be picking up. Who knows, I’ll give it ye’olde 2 episode try.

sounds good…no subs though damn, i’ll probably just download the raw anyway
I thought I heard it wrongly when Dejiko said her old home was an inn… but no.
It would’ve been so much better if Takurou catches up to the truck and finds out that Dejiko is actually going back to her home planet.
And no eyebeams!
Cute, though.
