How ironic that I will be spending the week of ending episodes in a place in Japan where I won’t have access to internet, BS-i, or anime channels.

You should put up a poll like JPMeyer’s on your page too. I’m sure the majority of your readers, like me, will vote for the same choice.

Thanks for the write-ups. I was hoping for a “happy” ending, though I had to guffaw at the role reversals of Misaki and Sato as pupil and tutor.

Time fer me to watch the remaining episodes since I’ve taken a break from pretty much all of the ones I’ve been watching and get back to “blogging” (or polluting as I like to call it.)

Oh, did Misaki ever change shirts or is she still wearing the same one? Ah, never mind. Who am I to talk, I’ve got 5 copies of the same shirt.

I felt that the scene on the cliff was actually well done. Satou goes off to die because in his delusion he believes that this will save Misaki. But simultaneously he is also realizing that he really does love Misaki. So when he hits the “catcher”, he is shocked because he can’t have his “tragically romantic” ending. But he is also coming out of his delerium and goes back to Misaki.

All-in-all, I liked the ending a lot, and I overall I was really impressed with the entire series. They made a great transition from social satire/black humor to very warm and sweet pathos. In the end, both Satou and Misaki are still very damaged, and may never really get over their problems, but they have found a way to cope, and in the end, that is pretty much what the World is really about anyway.

BTW - Thanks for taking the time to write such good summaries. I find your work very useful to read over once I’ve watched a raw because it helps me to pick up on the phrases that I may have missed during my viewing.
