Tokimeki Memorial ~Only Love~ - 10

Ok ok Tsukasa is getting sooo annoying. She’s like this clingy little glomping yaoi fangirl, except instead of yaoi she clings to Riku. She skips Volleyball practice to run into the classroom and glomp Riku, only to be then dragged away by the captain. When summer break hits Riku (surprisingly) wants to do something with her but she’s busy with her practices/tournaments so she says she can’t. Instead, Riku gets dragged into doing part time jobs with his friends.

Riku’s mystery sister (?) suggests various jobs for the 4 of them. The first one is working at Comic Festa but the glasses kid gets so overwhelmed with Otaku crap that he ends up being carried out on a stretcher with doujinshi and figures. The next job is working at a bargain retail store, one of the guys gets carried on a stretcher because all the crazy women mob run him over (ala Black Friday.) The next job is working on a farm taking care of baby chicks. The big dude runs into Yakuza-chick and he’s so frightened (with past experiences of being beaten) that he faints and is also carried away.

Since Riku is the only one left, the last job he gets is to work at a petshop. It seems easy at first but soon he is encountered with rabid dogs and wild snakes. They even threw in the “Running Riku” gag when they had him walk a bunch of dobermans who ran like 30 miles per hour. (That was also Mina’s only screentime this episode. I found that ironic because last week’s preview completely threw me off thinking it was going to be about her.)

Anyway at the end Riku ends up trying to take this furry dog for a walk. The dog apparently refuses to listen to anyone except its owner. At one point in the park, the dog runs and jumps on Sayuri walking by..and it turns out he’s her dog. He then gets excited and plays Frisby with Riku and then Sayuri joins in and they all run through the park in the sunset. At the end of the night they walk home and then Riku’s sister shows up and gets a bunch of dogs to run after him because he completely forgot about his job and didn’t walk them.

Upcoming Attractions: Riku gets tied up (to a chair).

    The swelling music and the panning shots of dog, boy, girl and impossibly buoyant frisbee convinced me of which harem member Riku’s gonna end up with.

    Chair…kinky…

    This ep does imply that Sayuri is not romantically inclined towards Riku since she showed no signs of jealousy during Tsukasa glomping.

    And the Sayuri moments always feel so manufactured. Mina’s 30s appearance did it for me this ep. :)

    lol i could almost sympathize with the guy wearing glasses if ever i could attend an a anime/comic con in japan they might have to put me in straight jacket to make me leave XD

    Yes she’s pretty fake/deadweight but she has that personality of the “acting fake and one day snapping”. that part excites me

    In my book it’s more like Sayuri “acting professionally”, which is often demanded from certain individuals (like rich kids, important people, etc). At least she’s better than a certain rich kid from the Tokimeki Memorial series also putting up a front (*cough*Rei Ijuuin*cough). In fact in this episode I actually saw Sayuri acting a little unhappy during that glomping fiasco (not enough to get much attention, but Riku noticed), so I bet she must have been really happy to have had fun with him and her dog at the park later in the episode.

    Probably something to do with the fact that she’s a sporty girly girl. Or a girly sporty girl. Umm… whichever. =P
