Busou Renkin - 07
If you thought the butterfly thing was gone, well THINK AGAIN!
Cause now it’s back and double the fun! First, Tokiko transfers into Kazuki’s school for some new mission that she’s been assigned by her “Chief”. He’s the guy who saved Kazuki in the last episode with the big silver coat. She acts like she has no time for a school life but all the students throw questions at her like “WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH KAZUKI!”
Tokiko tells Kazuki that he can choose to either fight with the “soldiers” or go back to his normal school life. Kazuki is still undecided but is happy to find out that Tokiko’s leader is as big of a dork as he is when he takes off his “battle uniform”. Meanwhile back a the ranch, Chouno wakes up to find the upper half of his body (arms not included) floating in a tank. He sees an old man who turns out to be his 100+ year old great grandpa who’s new name is “Doctor Butterfly”. How creative!
He tells Chouno how back when he used to be a human he kept experimenting and eventually succeeded. He has an army of freaks (one with a moon head) who I’ve no doubt have to be beaten 1 by 1 by Tokiko and Kazuki (see Kenshin.) Anyway Dr. Butterfly restores Chouno’s body and the first thing he does is give Kazuki a call to have a burger together (rofl). And even better he comes dressed like he just escaped from a ballet, scaring everyone working at the fast food place and getting into an argument with Kazuki about his “fashion sense”. ![]()
Before leaving he tells Kazuki that one day he will “settle things” with him. And by that he means, someone’s gonna have to die. In the meantime, another wacko shows up with a busou renkin arm thing (Edward Elric anyone?) and Tokiko’s chief beats his ass down. At that point, Kazuki makes the decision to fight along with the two of them to HELP DEFEAT EVIL! And fun stuff like that.
Upcoming Attractions: Dead zombie people.

LOL! Why is butterfly man wearing a dress?
its actually like a tight suit like you’d see a male ballet dancer wear lol
“LXE” is a parody of “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”… which means Grandpa Butterfly is Mr. Connery.
Oh oh oh… Tokiko and Kazuki has just got to be one of the greatest pairings for this season. It’s absolutely hilarious at times, and they’re just so perfect for each other(I read the manga too)!
I’d like to think that Busou Renkin didn’t steal any material from FMA… but the one year’s difference in the 2 mangas’ serializations is a bit too obvious to ignore(which adds on to the fact that Nobuhiro Watsuki hasn’t been able to produce anything half-as-spectacular as and after Rurouni Kenshin ended). Sad to say, although Busou Renkin is a decent show, it won’t reach the audience like RK did.
It’s hard to be a good mangaka *cough Oogure Ito* and novelist eh?
(Or maybe they have weird ideas, that’s all =X)
Damn right theyre the ultimate pairing!!
:D
Its too humorous and stuff but yea its a shame its not as popular as Kenshin, but it beats shit like Happiness and Yoakemae
Somehow Chouno now reminds me of the Crossdressing Teacher in Tokimeki Memorial - Only Love :D. Just which of them is scarier?
