Manga Review: Modotte! Mamotte! Lollipop - Volume 1
I wonder if there’s any Mamotte Lollipop fans that still read this blog. Anyway I was at Mitsuwa this weekend and I stopped by their bookstore to see if they had any manga. Sure enough I found volume 1 of the sequel to Mamotte Lollipop…of course when I purchased it, I thought it was volume 1 of the original manga which seems to be missing in action from all manga stores I’ve been to in New York. I read it anyway though, just because I saw the anime and the beginning of the manga did a quick review of what happened. I eventually would like to get the original series but for now I guess I’ll check out the sequel.
Anyway basically at the end of the first series, Nina and Zero admitted their feelings to each other and kissed 
They did show a screenshot of the kiss but not what led up to it. After that though, Zero and Ichi went back to the magic world and Nina’s been emoing because Zero hasn’t been showing “love” for her. Ahh long distance relationships. *shoots myself* So anyway, it seems Zero and Ichi are finally coming back but they come back because Nina swallows a crystal pearl….AGAIN. (Ok I personally thought this was retarded.)
I scanlated a few of my favorite Zero x Nina scenes. So now once again, everyone (#’s, 2-9) is after Nina. It’s rather annoying but the twist is different. This time, everytime Nina gets dokidoki, a piece of the pearl shoots out of her. The goal this time, is the person who gets most of the pieces will win the Magic Exam or whatever the hell it is this time. They don’t seem to figure out the dokidoki thing though until the end of volume 1.
The other thing is Nina and Zero’s relationship. When he comes back Nina feels like he only cares about the magic exam and gets mad at him. He then tells her that he came back for her and not for just the exam. Later when they all go on the cruise, Zero sees Nina in her new bikini but says “You’re still unsexy as always.” I mean honestly the difference between then and now is the fact that they both know they like each other….but Zero needs to stop acting like a moron. I’m sure eventually he will and this is probably just a plot device anyway.

Oh goodness, *faints*. The “dokidoki” concept, what a wonderful excuse to bring out as much men as possible. I can’t wait to see them throwing themselves at Nina trying to pleasure her to no end. How exciting!

I’m personally just enjoyin the Zero x Nina stuff, even though they had a bit of Nina x Ichi (who I actually rooted for when I first saw the anime)
I’ve enjoyed the first two chapters of the manga so far. I’m so glad that Nagare Boshi is scanlating it. ^_^ And now it is time to gush over the cute scans in your entry! Yay!

well at first i thought ichi was a good couple but then i just noticed today that Zero x Nina make a good couple. But sometimes he is annoying.

i luv mamotte! lollipop. i only have volume one so yea…im not grasping this 100% but now its spoiled T-T i actually thought ichi and nina would be a great couple, but those scans u showed us were…so hot!! the art is mucho better too…

well, the first tme i went there, there was only vol. 1 so then i decided that i would come back in 5 or 6 weeks. I did that and still there was no vol. 2! i came back on Aug.11 and still, no vol.2 >…>
then i asked them if they had vol.2 and they said that they don’t have it yet…… *sobs*
I have vol.1 nd 2 but they said vol.3 will be out in da 28th. well vol.2 said thats when it would come out in da U.S. I can’t wait 2 c what happens XD *squels*

I love the Original Mamotte Lollipop series (well, I mean the manga) Now I can’t wait to finish it so I can get to the sequel!! That’ll be awesome! I’ve only read volumes one and two since I can’t read japanese and they never seem to restock enough at my local borders and I haven’t been able to find volume three!!

I’m jumping way ahead of myself because I can’t find episode 3, so I’m just taking a guess that Nina swallowed it again on purpose so that she would be able to see Ichii and Zero again… but this is also a big spoiler for me cuz now I know they didn’t pass the first exam T^T
