NHK ni Youkoso! - 19

Published by Hinano at 9:54 pm under N.H.K. ni Youkoso!

This episode was absolutely amazing. I can’t believe how good this show has gotten. The only bad thing I can say is “What the heck happened to the animation?” Anyway Iinchou’s brother gets angry and violent at her for letting people into his room. She apologizes and tries to calm him down, hurting her hand in the process. She sees Sato and the others downstairs and he gives her the signed contract thing. She then tells him a story about how after high school her dad passed away and she had to do a bunch of slutty waitress jobs. Her brother just locked himself away and played games and she wanted to try to get him to stop being a hikki so she got fooled into buying that shit from Mouseroad which didn’t do jack.

Before Sato was about to leave, Iinchou asked that he stay because her brother wanted to talk to him. However, he wanted to talk to him through the MMORPG. Sato logged on and yelled at him saying that you can’t make money through a stupid game and that he’s trapped here. The brother explained that he really wants to get out of this and when Sato asks him why he doesn’t, he goes on to say that he’s afraid to “break his pattern of life” and “try something new.” Sato says goodbye and logs off the game. As he walks out of her house, he hears her brother crying.

Sato and Yamazaki now continue working on their game. Yamazaki shows him a scene where you can dress the girl however that’s like a BONUS you get if you beat the game and Sato has yet to write the scenario. One day Misaki stops by and makes Sato a healthy lunch so he can think better, and then Sato turns on the TV. The News show that MouseRoad has been caught and arrested and it’s now all over. Sato is so shocked he spills his miso soup on his pants and Misaki tries to help him wipe it. The way it looks like though she’s giving him head and as Yamazaki bursts into his apartment he totally get’s the wrong impression, turns red and runs out screaming “Excuse me!!”

In the meantime, Inchou’s been out for a while because of the whole scandal and hasn’t fed her brother for like 3 days. He’s like panicking and wondering if he’s gonna die. He shuts off his game and leaves the house. She comes back to find him missing but a few days later we see that he was so hungry, he begged a place to let him eat if he worked for them. He ends up being a takeout delivery boy and Iinchou thinks about going back to college.

Upcoming Attractions: Looks like we’re gonna finally see some stuff about Misaki.

Gotta love the “small world” effect that anime usually forces upon its characters. This kinda stuff don’t ever happen, but it makes for good drama!

Wow, so it went a bit differently compared to the manga

I’m glad this series has finally gotten better. It started out strong, but was really up and down in the middle. Glad I’ve stuck with it because now it’s time to find out about Misaki, the character that interested me from the beginning!

well, it IS a small world sometimes, as many times i’ve run into introducing people who already know each other…

This is totally different from the manga. That is cool and awesome. And it’s shaping up to be an ending that’s redemptive. PLEASE.

I can´t wait to see it. This Mouse Road ending is something we all want to see one day.
I wish something like this happened to Satou - the cut in half was not enough to make him get a proper job, though.

Is it too early to say that Gonzo, for one of the few rare golden moments, changed the manga in such a way that when the anime came out it was even better than before?

I guess reading or, for my case, not reading the manga plays an important role in how an anime is received by the audience eh?

Let’s hope Gonzo doesn’t bomb this into oblivion. =D

I’ve not read the manga and I heard it’s different but I’m liking the way the anime is headed and based on people’s comments it seems it actually might have a happier ending than the manga!

Actually, he is delivering Ramen the same day Megumi was let go from the Jail. You can see him riding his bicycle through the window of her bathroom as she is taking a bath. Megumi also is very well endowed in the breasts department.

The animation wasn’t bad at all. It just wasn’t consistent with the rest of the episodes. It looked like someone from Studio 4°C got the position of Art Director.

Hooray for Megumi and her brother.

Now someone just has to stop feeding Satou and let him starve the hikikomoriness out of him.
