Asatte no Houkou - 05
You know despite this show 
not being really “comedic” or “action packed” I really enjoy it. It feels like it “flows naturally” rather than slapping me in the face with overused cliches. Anyway it turns out that Shouko moves in with Karada and Hiro. I don’t know how Japan’s apartments work but…who’s paying her apartment lease? John Smith? So anyway the reason is because Hiro and Karada still feel uncomfortable around each other, so Shouko is like a mediator. They should pay her, seriously.
One day while Shouko is sitting on a bench in the shade she watches a bunch of kids play. She recalls that back in school when she was actually young, the kids would say “Shouko doesn’t want to play with us, so don’t bother asking her.” A girl comes up to her and says she used to live here and moved away but just recently moved back. She yells out to the other kids asking them to have let Shoujo play with them. Shouko’s angered and runs off.
It turns out that girl was also friends with Tetsu. She comes to his house and Tetsu’s mom asks her to help him with his summer homework. However, in his room we find out she’s a total “badass” and she’d rather have fun than care about schoolwork. She tells Tetsu he needs to enjoy his life while he’s young and says that she can sneak out the window with him.
That day Shouko is about to walk home but a girl stops her and asks her to play with her and the other kids. A boy comes up to her saying that Shouko doesn’t play with them, but that other girl won’t give up and calls Shouko “oni” (I guess they were playing onigokko.) Shouko actually gets into it and ends up playing with the other kids. Afterwards she’s happy and then she runs into Karada who hugs her saying how worried she was. She, Hiro and Shouko walk home together holding hands, looking like a family…and they are spotted by Tetsu’s sister. She later runs into Tetsu who has run away from home and begs her to let him live with her. He says he has no time to study and has to look for Karada…but she tells him that she’s already found her.
Upcoming Attractions: Tetsu meets the grown up Karada.

Aww, what a cute episode!
I agree, I don’t mind this show not having a lot of comedy time! I like the flow of the story!
yea i mean compared to yoake mae ruriiro…this is so much more natural and realistic. i mean i realize the other has a fantastical element with her being from the moon, but this has one too with the body switchin and it pulls it off much better when it doesn’t shove random chibis and shitty animation every few minutes ya know?

It seems Hiro is warming up to shouko, he doesn’t call her shouko or Shoukosan in front of Karada though.

Well, a show does not need to be really “comedic” or “action packed” to be liked. I really envy you, being able to watch Asatte no Houkou as soon as it shows. People like me have to depend on fansubbing services. =\
