Asatte no Houkou - 04
Hiro is in denial, Karada is hurt
and Shouko is sick of playing the marriage counselor. Hiro still can’t come to the fact that they indeed grew up and grew down. He says “So that girl is my sister huh.” Karada hears this, and in tears runs to her room and shuts the door. Hiro proceeds to leave and after he gets out of the elevator, Shouko runs up to him and kicks him in the shins. She calls him an idiot and goes back to her apartment.
In the meantime, that maroon haired guy (who barely gets any screentime so I don’t even know his name) is doing his homework but has a picture of Karada under his book. His sister lets him off the hook by helping him sneak out so he can go to the summer festival and look for Karada there. In the meantime, Karada has cooked some food for Hiro who is seeing her prepare everything in the same way she did when she was little.
Shouko decides to have Karada and Hiro go to the festival together in the hopes of having Hiro realize that this indeed is his sister. The summer festival holds a lot of memories for them, such as during fireworks Hiro had Karada sit on his shoulders so that she could see better. Shouko also gives Karada her old Yukata that she never wore and said that it’s a waste for it not to be worn by anybody.
At the festival, Shouko purposely splits up with Karada and Hiro so that they can have some time alone. During the fireworks Hiro tells Karada a story about their fireworks events back in the day and Karada just keeps saying “yea” since she was obviously there. When Hiro asks him why she made a wish to be an adult, she says she wanted to help him around better. She then begins crying saying that only her body is an adult’s but deep inside she’s still a child. Hiro then calls her “Karada-san” like he used to and things are back to normal. They find Shouko and Karada pleads her to come live together with the two of them, and Shouko has no choice but to say yes.
Upcoming Attractions: Shouko is starting to hate her life as a kid and is trying to deal with it.

I love this show, its so “deep”! I think Shouko’s reality check will come from living with Hiro and Karada.. I can’t believe she ended up accepting to do so… I feel bad for Shouko, she’s my favorite character here.
i actually didnt like shouko in her adult form but in her child form she seems a lot cooler.
Honestly, I don’t know what to make of this story; only that this type of premise comes from a fetished male mind: Adult body, child-like disposition (esaily manipulated), no blood relation; child body, adult-like disposition (experienced), still in love. But, I’ll watch and learn for closure. I feel dirty, I think I’ll take a shower.
Keep the detachable show head in it’s bracket or you’re going to hell! You realise this is anime right? These types of stories aren’t exactly an exception.

True. But I’m waiting for the day Hiro goes deep into Karada.
Hornball, I don’t know excactly what you mean? I’m new to anime, so unfortunatly, I still tend to look at the things underneath the surface. Is that a wrong way to look at anime? Though I feel, in the end, regardless of the format, a story is a story. Or, could it be that this is such a common occurence in Japanese anime that we are unfazed by it? Regardless, let’s just hope Hiro is a really good guy. I’ll watch becuase I’m curious to see how the author will give closure to that type of premise.
I wonder where they are going to live. Shouko’s apartment or Hiro’s apartment. Maybe they will need to find a bigger place with two bedrooms.
It looked like from the preview that they were living in Hiro’s apartment? But I could be wrong.
