Bokura ga Ita - 17
Due to my new job 
posts on this blog will probably be later than usual and may or may not roll on to the next day. Anyway Take is now down AND out I’m afraid. Anyway Nanami agrees to “go out” with Yano so he could tell her about Nana. However to make sure of this, and to make sure it doesn’t turn into a “date”, Take comes along. Yano is really pissed but he hides it. When they are at the restaurant, all Yano says is “We went out, and broke up when she died.”
Nanami and Take aren’t satisfied with this but Take realizes that Yano needs Nanami so he draws the white flag and goes home. At this point Nanami asks if Yano wants to do anything and she ends up at his house. There, he grabs one of the puppies he took from Take (and named Rarami) and they play with it in the field. They start talking about having kids and Nanami says she wants a boy and a girl. Yano says he wants 2 boys because if the father isn’t home, they both have someone to play catch with.
It turns out Yano’s dad died when he was little so he barely knew him. At the end of the “date” Nanami is feeling all “painful” inside her heart etc. Yano offers to walk her to the bus stop and there he offers his hand saying to give a “goodbye handshake.” And just as predicted, when she gives him her hand, he pulls her into a hug and says “Thanks for today.”
Later we see a flashback about Yano’s past. It appears that Yano’s dad was actually the husband of his mom’s friend…that I guess she had an affair with? I’m sooo confused on this whole part. Yano was like “so that means I’m Ichigo-obaasan’s kid” and his mom goes “No you’re my kid.” If anyone can clear up this confusion please do so. That night Yano sends Nanami an email saying that he promises he’ll tell her about Nana if she goes out with him again. Nanami replies back going “Okay.” Blah.
Upcoming Attractions: Yano and Nanami get back together and it appears Yano finally talks about his past with Nana.

Booooo! for Take! I felt sorry for Yano… Only for like 5 seconds, he’s too messed up to be in a relationship!
um… okay… i’m just mad that Take gave up! how could he!! i feel so… unsatisfied!! =(
Its really not surprising. I almost feel as if he “Gave up because its obvious this anime is targetted towards Nanami and Yano.”
You must all be girls; there must be something inticing with getting a boyfriend’s friend (all you Take fans). All is not fair in love-n-war, there are no,no’s. I don’t know what’s fair between girls, but for guys, trying to get with a friend’s girlfriend recently after they broke up is taboo. Listen, the only time quys do this is when they don’t care for each other, or they don’t care for the girl. Take (whatever his name is) taking a bow is admirable. If he hadn’t, there would have been a whole mess of problems, one specifically: Nana wanting Yano back when she’s dating Take. Then poor Take will be hurt.
yeah… i know, but i was really enjoying the past few episodes with Take in it.. now it’s back to yano and nana and i’m in no mood of watching it… sad i know… =(
heaven: well i’m a girl, and I think most of the people who read my bokura ga ita entries are girls as well XD I personally can see how a relationship between Take and Nanami would fail mostly cause Take doesn’t wanna drop his friendship with Yano…however I’d almost rather Nanami just be single or go with some other guy than be with Yano. It just that it seems no other guy is after her except for Take.
True, true Hinano. I guess I maybe the only guy here then. Sorry, I may have wandered into the wrong place but it’s always good to get one male p.o.v.. Please forgive: I write, so I wander to learn; and angst, is my favorite emotion which this story has by the bucket loads. It strums my strings. Between Yano and Nana however: A good/interesting love can come from a good girl trying to change a bad boy. Where there’s no conflict, love’s a bore and withers i.e. Take & Nana (or at least not a story). We all look for intreast, no? So, if it’s not Yano, then it’s another bad boy.
Well I’m a girl and what Take did was wrong methinks. For girls, dating a friend’s ex especially a little while after is a big fat NO NO! For Take to just leave them alone was a very nice thing to do. So it isn’t jusdt guys, its some girls too. I think Take understands how much problems this could cause and by being the bigger person it might make him look even better in Nanami’s eyes; who knows. For me though, I’m happy things are getting better between Yano and Nana. I think they are great together, dysfunctional or not.
So, yay!
Lol, I’m a guy too, but I’m seriously lacking social skills nor do i have any (boy-girl) relationship experiences. (Yes, I have no life. *sob*)
I guess the whole issue brought up here is the abrupt swap of the limelight where Yano gets Nana instead after watching so many episodes of TakexNana. So yeah, it can get a bit dis-satisfying seeing Take giving up just like that.
Nevertheless, heaven’s notion of Take respecting Yano’s decision to return to Nana’s side seems highly plausible. I never really understood how boy-girl relationships worked anyway, but ur explanations shed some light on it.
From an anime’s production point of view, that ‘mess of problems’ heaven mentioned might leave this season as a cliffhanger, something few individuals would apprecipiate seeing.
So yes, as much as I would rather seeing TakexNana, YanoxNana would most probably be the most appropriate decision/outcome, but not really the most favourable, fan-wise.
The only thing I don’t get about this would be, why girls prefer bad boys. Isn’t it better to have a stable relationship rather than one packed with constant conflicts?

Tsk, Tsk, Yyi. Live and learn my friend, then get Tide. It’s the whole alpha/beta male model. Yes, beta males make good partners, but alpha males have the “potential” to make better partners. That is, assuming they can be changed; but that is a whole story in itself for the women. To not lack experience my friend, just leave inhibitions at the door and be yourself. The worst a girl can do to you is say, “No.” You become jaded after so many rejections, at this point, depending on your decision, that’s where you become an alpha or beta.
Actually Yano is rapidly improving, he doesn’t seem to be such an assed up candidate for love after this little period of reflection and maturation. So unless he reverts, I’m ok with anything.
You’re right saying that a relationship between Take and Nana wouldn’t work, but I guess it’s nice to see when a boy fights for a girl, and all those embarrasing situations, when everybody blush.
heaven: it’s not nice when you broke up with someone, and one of his bestfriends is after you.
I perfectly understand Nana’s feelings, all that silly confusion, all those doubts, because I’ve had a similar experience, the only difference is that my “Yano” was really a stupid, with no chances of change at all, and my “Take” is still there.
I guess I cheer for Yano, I really like to believe that someone can improve and mature like that.
Yyi: good boys are nice, but sometimes quite predictable, bad boys are a challenge. Anyway, not every girl prefer bad boys.

no self respecting woman would actually want to have a long term relationship with a bad boy… (but there are quite a few, sadly). dating bad boys more fun!
thanx for blogging hinano!!! i’m sad to know that its coming later then usual. i’m really contradicting myself by saying this cause i love yano and nana together… but cant help who you like sometimes even if its your boy’s girl especially when you see your bestfriend not being able to treat her right and be there for her but you could… the great part is that they can still be friends well kinda and its not like he tried to be with her while they were still together, and he gave hi a 2nd chance too

Fisah, I agree. Yyi, listen to Miaka. Hinano, a beautiful romance starts with some form of lust; we must be careful, or we’ll miss out. Anne, don’t confuse a bad boy with an evil one; belive me, there’s a difference. Bad boys are just another form of alpha males, specifially: independent, strong, and passionate in their own ways. Now that I’m done playing mother and father: Go Yano! Tie up Take again, just because it’s funny.
Yano’s mom is his Natural mother. She had an affair with his best friend’s husband. the Reason Yano asked his mother the question about being the other woman son is because she was the WIFE of his Father so make sense for him to be her son. He was young at that time, and still can’t understand the concept of an Affair.
Don’t count Take out yet, If I am right, this show will end at Volume 8. So far they are averaging about 3 episodes per Volume. They have covered so far up to half of Volume 6, but they have skipped some of Take flashbacks. So it is very likely they will end the show at volume 8 of the manga. IT is too bad there are not spoiler tags her :). I have read up to volume 10 of the manga.

honestly if you come reading this blog, you should be prepared for spoilers anyway XD (hence why I often do those “click here to continue reading” things)
Yeah, I was not spoiled by anything. I only come to check what people are talking about the show. I always watch the episode first. I already know what is going to happen, I read the manga Raw up to Volume 10.
It is so sad! I wish they could go as far as volume 9.

im really glad that nanami & yano are getting back together. btw, heavenorhell7, im a gal. im a fan of yano. anyway, take is really really nice & sweet.. but it’s too nice & too sweet that i find him more suitable as a fren material. but no offense to all the take fans. different gals have different taste i guess. ^_^ but yano can be really mean sometimes.. thanks hinano for putting up this blog~ totally made my day! the english subs not out yet so i couldnt wait.
hmmmm…I’d like to say I’d go for a guy like Take but in the end….I’d probably fall for a guy like Yano..
It’s sad that Take doesn’t get the girl though… =(
