NHK ni Youkoso! - 15
Wow this episode
just reminded me of how addictive Ragnarok Online was. So it turns out, Sato’s dad lost his job or something and so now his mom is like only paying half for his apartment/expenses etc(?) She tells him to go get a job but when he tries he can’t find one that he’d be good at or be able to handle because of his hikkiness. He then remembers the advertisement about the Ultimate Fantasy MMORPG that kid gave him and told him he can gather rare items, and sell them for real money. And so…Sato’s addiction to MMORPGs begins.
Sato starts out playing but he is constantly getting his ass kicked. Yamazaki stops by to tell him about finishing the game for the winter Comic Fest, and explains to Sato that in order to beat strong enemies, you have to join a party. Sato tries to do this but fails since he’s a hikki. During his counseling with Misaki that night she starts talking about taking “small steps at a time” which reminds Sato that you can beat small enemies first, and then level up to take on bigger ones.
He continues this plan of his day and night with little/to no sleep, and one day saves another fellow player from a monster. She thanks him and asks him to team up with her and fight because she’s the healing type of character. They team up and take on lots of enemies and become close friends. I think Sato even gets the “fall in love with an MMORPG character” syndrome.
Misaki gets worried because Sato stops coming to counseling for a few days without warning. She thinks that maybe he found an activity and he doesn’t need her help anymore. She comes to his apartment to check up on him and when she opens the door she sees him sitting in the room all dark totally drooling at the computer. She then says to herself that he has possibly gone to something worse than he was before.
Upcoming Attractions: Misaki decides to get Sato outta the MMORPG addiction.

Ahh, falling in love with a person through video games. So funny and so true.
Ragnarok pwned until World of Warcraft came out, then a whole other level of addicted gamers arrived on the scene. Scary stuff, gaming addiction.
haha I still like RO i just dont have time to waste on it anymore :B
The added ‘team party’ talk was just genius. Kashiwa-senpai suits being a warrior. :3
i was just amused at the fact that they blatantly had a creature which looked EXACTLY like a poring from RO
SHHH… I add to my income by real money trading from certain mmorpg… this show is scary for reminding me of myself
(and yes, I DON’T have a girlfriend)
The only way to get rid of a habit is to replace with another one ^-^
So were the sirens a red herring? Hmmm, making money playing an MMORPG….hmmm, I spend enough time online as it is.
I thought at first he was going to like be a GM for the game server or something (thats a lot easier than trying to get rare items and then sell them lol)
actually, rare items aren’t such moneymaker, ordinary items with best value/weight ratio on mass hunted low/medium lvl monsters are better bet - must be tradeable to npc’s
and then I just e-bay the money I get, on my localized version of the service.
as money can buy you pretty much any rare item, I get better price than rares…
looks like a bunch of mmorpg references mixed altogether. especially too many ffxi ones @_@
