Kanon - 02
In answer to your question anne, yes I will continue blogging Kanon. 
Soo anyway what have we got this episode? A case of mystery jam. In the TOEI version, Nayuki actually ate the jam perfectly fine while it seems like it was mysteriously morbid in the KyoAni version. I don’t even remember the jam thing from the game (I don’t think I could even read half the kanji at the time I played the game). Pardon my sick mind but that “jam” being yellow only made me think of ONE thing. X_X;
Does anyone notice a pattern between these images? It’s like game, wtf, anime. Why is it that TOEI’s imagery of the game scene is always like backwards or facing the opposite way? LOL. I thought that was really funny when doing these image combos. KyoAni really tries to be close to the game as possible. My favorite part was actually in the beginning when Yuiichi’s alarm goes off and it’s Nayuki going “Yuiichi asa dayo! Gohan tabete gakkou iku yo!” Oh man that brings back some fond memories. Also the difference I liked in TOEI’s animation where Ayu went for the glomp and then hit the tree, while in the KyoAni one she just RAN into the tree. The other difference was that when Ayu went to help Shiori pick up her stuff, she almost picked up her card board cutter. I guess maybe they’ll go into that next episode? Oh also, is Sayuri’s voice = Misuzu from Air? Sounds just like her. Aand also did they change Shiori’s voice? It sounds different but I didn’t check.
The biggest difference with this scene was the whole box vs blanket thing. In the game and KyoAni version Makoto was hiding under the blanket, while in the TOEI she was in a box. I don’t really get how they went from a blanket to a box, but the scene was way more dramatic in the KyoAni one with the waving blanket than a random box being thrown into the air. I also noticed while rewatching some of the TOEI scenes they felt SO BLAND compared to the KyoAni ones. I don’t know if it’s the animation, the direction, the music or a combo of all 3, but when comparing I’m really enjoying the KyoAni version.
Upcoming Attractions: Makoto bitchslaps Yuiichi into shape. (is it Yuuichi or Yuiichi? I keep forgetting.)

Akiko’s jam is one of the most popular parts of the game, how could u not remember it!
Its supposed to be horribly, well, horrible. “Akiko’s Mystery Jam” And its pretty much a running joke thru the game, and even shows up in the loading screens for Eternal Fighter games, lol. (and i think you can use it as an attack, although most of her stuff is kitchen stuff, not actual edible stuff).
Anyway, Akiko’s jam is win even though its wow in a non good way.
Its Yuuichi.
And as far as i know they didnt change any seiyuu other than Yuuichi’s. But i mean, its been long enough that her voice may have changed…or yeah tehy may have just replaced her.

I keep calling him Kyuuichi (any guesses as to why?
). I’m a little surprised that they’re introducing Makoto this early. Not that I’m complaining. I figured with a 24 epsiode show they’d take their time. I’m hoping that they’ll have a more involved story line with her. And now I get to find out what happened to her since I haven’t seen all of the the Teoi version. Poor Shiori, she looks sort of stunned with all of stuff on the ground. Now all we need is Mai to appear.

Mai did appear, I just didn’t have any game screenshots to pair it up with (I could post a ton of toei vs kyoani ones but i figured i’d stick to the ones in the game)
I just decided to watch the series, still on the first ep, but it looks cute, can’t wait for this one! Hey, I was wondering, where do you host this site? I’ve been considering doing my own anime blog, and I have no idea how too. XD *Is dumb* Thanks in advance! (Any extra advice would be great too. ^_*)

I liked the parody of Kyon, when Yuiichi starts monologing and the girl asks ‘who are you talking to?’ lol!
yuuichi remembered ayu in second ep. did that happen in the first kanon? is it just me or does anyone else find that odd. then again i could be wrong, it’s been a long time since i’ve seen the original kanon.
noticed remark about unconventional introduction? (Haruhi anyone?) KyoAni seems to love giving such easter eggs, I remeber ESP attacks in Haruhi: Fumoffu! Second raid!
haha i wouldnt be surprised if haruhi reared its head more often, the fact that Yuuichi is very Kyon~i it not surprising.
anne: I didn’t watch the TOEI ep fully I scrolled through it so the memory screenshots WERE from ep 2 so I think he did recall it.
Sayuri=Misuzu (Tomoko Kawakami), and Shiori=Shiori (Akemi Satou), and yea she does sounds somewhat different but then again she hasn’t really said much. She did act differently when picking up her things compared to the first anime, altho I’m not sure whether that’s something subtle or something insignificant.
