Negima!? - 02

I’m a bit tired so this is gonna be a quick commentary. I just wanna say the random image panneling during the “Asuna tells Negi she knows he’s a mage” scene really gave me a headache. Also I guess because the atmosphere of this Negima is so serious it’s making Evangeline seem like this evil wench, but after reading the manga it’s really hard for me to see her this way because she really is not. She’s just a poor woman who’s crush put a spell on her and ran away. I’d be mad too! I don’t particularly like that scene where they showed the class list and moved back & forth from picture to picture based on who’s voice it was. All this is just making it seem over exessive “decoration” or something. Oh yea I also don’t really like the opening or the ending. Happy Material FTW!

    For new negima fans, the first impression of evangeline they are gonna get is that shes this evil wench like brat. But apart from that i can’t think of anything else to complain about the episode.

    I just felt that although it’s cool sometimes they went a bit overboard. The reason I feel this is I’ve made amvs before where I went overboard using effects. Some people thought it was cool as hell but when I look back now I’m like “whoa overboard…”

    you know about the openingi they used the VAs right? wouldn’t they do it like happy materials again? like changing OP to their style (since it was setsuna, konoka, negi and asuna in this first OP i think) , makes me think they going to put a different one.

    Eva scenes owned so much this episode. Especially the electrocution one.

    I actually liked the opening, kind of captured the magical battle portion of the series, and I am still a ravid fan of the original manga series. I can agree that there are parts that were just overpushed. But its not fair to compare this show to the first series, because even though they operate under the same manga they are for two completely different audiences. And we all know that the kids will love a cool tense opening like that and all of the generic DBZ style tension brought in before battles.
