Busou Renkin - 02

Published by Hinano at 6:46 pm under Busou Renkin

Blushing boys are so moe. So is Hirano Aya in like every show this season? She’s in in at least 2 that I’m blogging, and 3 that I’m actually watching. Also the voice of the Kazuki is played by the guy who voiced Keita from Inukami which totally ads like 20 points of awesomeness for me. I don’t really like the voice for Tokiko but it does fit her personality in the show so I let it go. (I also don’t like the weird face scar but I’ll get used to it.)

So now Kazuki was revived by Tokiko (almost feels like UFO Princess Warukure without the loli part) and was given the powers of “busou renkin” which I guess means “Armed Alchemist”. Thanks to watching FMA a lot of terminology is familiar to me (and I actually now realize its homonuculous not HOMON CRUZ rofl.) Tokiko gave Kazuki her phone number so that they could go out and train secretly. Their training session is interrupted by the fag with the gay butterfly glasses, clearly trying to win the “fruitiest looking villain” award.

He tries to drop a homonuculous thing (that looks like the Adam embryo from Evangelion) on to Tokiko but Kazuki notices and helps her bat it away. Unfortunately, their failure to kill it allows it to implant in the hair of Kazuki’s sister (voiced by Hirano Aya.) Kazuki’s friends think that Tokiko is his girlfriend but they can’t reveal how exactly they are associated, so they lie saying they’re brother and sister..further confusing Mahiro.

So like Tokiko manages to get the homonuculous chunk off Mahiro’s hair and trips and she and Kazuki roll down a steep hill (and he hits his head on to a rock and ends up sleeping until late at night.) When he wakes up, he finds out the homonuculous implanted itself on to Tokiko’s body. She says that they have to get those stupid looking butterfly glasses from that fruitcake or else it will take over her body, she’ll become a monster and all that good stuff and then Kazuki will have to kill her. Of course that doesn’t slide too well with Kazuki and he is determined to train to get stronger and help her get rid of the homonuculous. In the meantime, fruitcake boy has sent down a bunch of stupid looking frogs to attack them.

Upcoming Attractions: Kazuki trains and gets stronger, or some other shounen cliche. (Whatever, as long as he blushes 4 times an episode it’s all good with me.)

I am watching this show, too. XD; I just watched the first episode today, and I enjoyed it. Yeah, Tokiko’s scar annoys me also.

    I am currently watching: Death Note, D.Gray-man, Busou Renkin, and Kanon. I tried watching ~cresent love~, but I did not really like it. The characters just seemed really flat and stereotypical. =_=;

Are you watching Death Note at all? I am just wondering, for I know you do one or two episodes before you make a final decision on whether it is worth watching.

I am not watching it as of now, but I will be reading your ep summaries/comments on it; maybe I start getting into it more! Plus the guy with the butterfly glasses is just so cool! (Not! LOL) :)

    jp: indeed I did.

crayon: I saw those glasses in NYC like a month ago and started giggling.

Lydia: no i didnt like death note or d.gray man. death note was too gloomy/didn’t hook me from ep 1, and d.gray man i gave 2 eps try but it reminded me too much of king of bandit jing mixed with FMA so I didnt bother after ep 2 (and that tsundere guy with the pony tail seemed like another yaoi candidate)

Lalita: XD im tellin you he’s trying to win “stupidest looking villain of the year” award. i knew this the moment i saw his stupid face on the website!

And by that do you mean, when Tokiko starts getting dere for Kazuki? I feel it will happen eventually and it’s gonna be awesome ;D

I started liking the series (manga) a lot more when it got into the somewhat-cheesy romance bits. Cheered at the end and loved the omake side-chapter about Tokiko’s scar. Hope they’ll cover that in the anime.

I read on Wikipedia the other day that it’s by the same creator as Rurouni Kenshin…No wonder I like it! lol

I just can’t take the villian seriously… I mean, did you see his moves in the OP?!?! Good grief.

  12. Hinanoon 18 Oct 2006 at 5:08 am

Yes he looks like a bloomin’ idiot :D However I’m only watchin it for the shipping/romance aspect…about the main reason i watch any show nowdays :)
