Tonagura - 13 (Finale)
Well that ending sucked.
It like totally ruined the series for me that I don’t ever wanna watch it again therefore it’s not a keeper I’m afraid! So anyway it turns out Yuuji really is moving and he’s moving to New York! Kazuki attemps to make up with him before he leaves but it turns into another misunderstanding. In the end Kazuki just thinks Yuuji hates her, and he thinks that Kazuki hates him as usual. Pretty much the same crap we saw the last 12 episodes. Oh and Marie’s friend (the blonde american chick) is crying waterfalls between all of this.
So now in school Kazuki is all gloomy and still avoids any kind of contact with Yuuji. Chihaya hears about this and then says nothing you can do if your parents are forcing you to move. She tells Kazuki however, that she should do what feels right in her heart. Kazuki then goes all emo thinking about how mean she was too Yuuji and how he didn’t change and she was the one who changed. She tries to give him that letter from 10 years ago, but then bitches about how he prolly hates her and never does so.
So at the airport they’re still pretty silent up until the moment where Yuuji and Kazuki are left alone by the others. Kazuki tells him she realizes that Yuuji has always been ecchi and he tells her that she has always been pretty much tsundere lol. It doesn’t really get anywhere…again and like after Yuuji and Marie are walking away its seems as if Kazuki will yell out her feelings. However, instead she yells out “Don’t go! I like you the way your ecchi self is!” So he promptly turns around, runs up and jumps head first into her boobs.
So in the end it turns out the boat of Kazuki and Yuuji’s parents got steered off course into some random island again. So basically now Yuuji and Marie can stay in Japan and don’t have to move. Kazuki says that she’ll accept Yuuji being a perv, but he has to accept the fact that she hates pervs. That’s about as far as we get. Oh and Kazuki finally takes that love letter from 10 years ago, makes it into a paper airplane and throws it into the air. Yuuji takes a photo of her smiling..THE END. Okay lame.
Final Thoughts: Lame? Like I really did enjoy it but it felt like all the build up was pretty much deflated quickly and thrown away. I thought maybe Kazuki would at least try to change for the better….but it’s as if no one has matured at all etc. Meh. Oh well it’ll make use for my AMV footage. Other than that, if you wanna see girls punching guys all the time I recommend Love Hina.

Luv hina!!!!!
well at least in Love Hina they got married….
love hina had a lot of contenders. Kazuki has yuuji despite her illtreatment of him, its like a sure win monopoly. Almost.
What the…? That wasn’t really nice a way to end an anime series. I didn’t feel much of a plot/character development for a last episode (if there was a proper plot).
Love Hina surpasses most other harem series big time.
yea thats what i mean…its seemed like they were building it up to resolution but in the end nothing much got resolved.
[...] I might drop Tona-gura! and watch it for personal kicks since Hinano’s already posted about how horrible the ending was and that there was no character development in the end. Ah well, it was worth a shot. Manga reviews will be on hold as well, since Siana at Shoujo Magic is on hiatus for now. I don’t feel the need to write about chapter one-shots or shounen-ai series that I randomly stumble upon since some manga directories don’t specify genres.. [...]
Pfft. I kinda expected it to have such a hare-brained ending.
It’s only good for people who like osananajimi, like me. I don’t like lolis, heh.
Sigh, too bad Zegapain beats Tonagura in the osananajimi department too…
Well, Zegapain IS better anyway. =D
true, there could have been more for this ending
this ending really did bite, u would think after all of this the older sister might have made her little sister accidentally confess
