Bokura ga Ita - 13
You guys ready for another bowl of emo soup? 
So anyway Yano and Nanami are broken up and lots of rumors are circulating around school such as “she wouldn’t give him any so he got tired of it” etc. Nanami refuses to tell even her friends the actual reason. The only one who probably has any idea is Takeuchi. One day after school Takeuchi decides to cheer her up by inviting her over his house to see a pair of puppies he found. He says he’s going to keep them both because he feels bad leaving them. He tells Nanami she can come over any time (”with no deep meaning”) to play with them.
In the meantime, Yano’s friends invite Yano to a gokkon. They ask him to put on a “disguise” as well. At the gokkon are a bunch of stupid hoes and while Yano is bored one of them takes his phone and sees a picture of Nanami still in it. They say stuff how she’s average looking and not cute at all. One of them asks why he still has it, and he just replies that it’s too much of a pain to change it. She says she’ll do it for him and deletes the picture of Nanami. Yano gets pissed off and goes to the bathroom. There he tries calling Takeuchi begging him to send him the photo again. The friend who invited Yano to the gokkon walks in and Yano tells him to swear to not tell anyone about this. As Yano leaves the bathroom, the ho is outside and appologizes then asks him to go to a love hotel. He tells her that he “doesn’t wanna do it with someone he doesn’t love.”
That night he climbs into Takeuchi’s house through the window in the middle of the night. He keeps trying to beg him to give him that photo saying “I won’t hold a grudge against you I just want the photo.” Takeuchi says he doesn’t keep other guys gf’s photos and says he can look in his phone if he doesn’t believe him. Takeuchi says that love is about timing and Nanami might get taken by someone. He then asks Yano who would he pick, Nanami or Nana? He also asks him “If I were to go out with Takahashi, what would you do?” Yano tells him to stop talking shit and falls asleep on the floor. The next morning Takeuchi finds a sleeping Yano and sees his phone is open. When he lights it up there is an email Yano was writing to Nanami about how he’s sorry he said the wrong shit again and then says “I really….” and it stops there. (Anotherwords he can’t say ‘i love you’).
The next day at school Nanami asks Takeuchi if she can come over to play with the puppies and she even brought some stuffed toys for them. Takeuchi doesn’t wanna get in the way (in case Yano shapes up) and says he’s got something else to do today. Nanami is a bit hurt but says it’s no big deal. During a class discussion on what to do for the next school festival she says she doesn’t want to lose anymore, and asks if anyone has good ideas. Yano suggests “Mouse Land” (or something) and everyone likes the idea. Nanami thanks him afterwards but before he can start any conversation with her she runs off. While everyone is going home after school and Yano and Takeuchi are about to get on the bus, Takeuchi tells Yano he just remembered something. “What I told you last night was a warning.” With that the bus door closes and the bus rides off with Yano, while Takeuchi runs over to Nana and tells her that his plans have been cancelled and she can come over his house. All Yano can do now, is watch as the bus drives further away from them.

I guess that one guy solved the problem about how to refer to the two Nanas. It’s Baka-Nana and Chibi-Nana from now on ^_^
And Takeuchi was apparently also interested in Baka-Nana, but didn’t make a move in time.

X_X TOO… MUCH… EMO… SOUP! Bgi is getting worse and worse. It was one of my favourite animes when i started wtaching it.. But now Yano became a bastard =.=’ I hope Nanami picks Takeuchi… but I know she’s not gonna because on every cover of the mangas you see Nanami and Yano together >

At least this series is above the usual romance anime were nobody have issues or their issues can be easy be solved … in reality things do not work that way, at least not that easy.
Lets ignore that and venture into “generic anime romance”? or the idea that people are flawed creatures that have issues that you can NEVER do something about it is so horrible that you rather take a shallow character as Takeuchi over a real person?
Well we don’t know much about Takeuchi other than he randomly had a crush on Nana and one on Nanami…I’m sure if we saw his side of the story we’d probably feel differently
True, we only see Nanami inner voice and not Yano, this story very much Nanami.
But does not change the fact this is story deals with more complex issues that normaly happens in romance anime.
A lot of people are saying Yano is a horrible person but why? he never cheated on Nanami (unlike Nana that seems to have cheated on Yano with Yano always forgiving her … I guess forgiving boyfriends are a bad thing) … Nana and Yamoto are events that happened in the past and even if Nana is someone that still have a strong effect on him its still someone that just died about 1 year before the story happened, he is still in the process going over it.
Yano is just damaged goods. If he can get rid of his obsession with Nana and dedicate himself for his love to Nanami, he could be a decent guy. He also needs to tone down his jealousy. I still can’t believe what he did during the birthday party.

oh some takeuchi support! really glad to find this place. i don’t mind yanoas a character, i think he has great character development going for him but i dislike yano’s and nana’s relationship.
i don’t know it might have to do with the fact that the girl he used to love has the same name as the girl who loves him presently. that just seems so weird.

Haha! I haven’t been this pleased with a BGI episode for a while. Takeuchi is still sweet, Yano seems to be slowly graduating from jerk mode, and nothing bad happens to Nanami. Love it! Kudos to Yano for not being led around by his ****. I dunno what happened in the manga in the middle volumes; I only know where it’s at right now and where it began. Seems different than what I’d imagined the middle part to be like. Yay! I just hope they end the anime ends on a happy note, whatever happens. Thank you for the blog!

I just noticed that. I don’t think he’s a jerk because of that. It’s the fact that he initially lied to Nanami about his relationship with Yamamoto. And then there’s the idea that he rebounded with the little sister after his girlfriend died. Although, the latter doesn’t bother me as much as the former.
