School Rumble II - 26 (Finale)
Ladies & Gentlemen! 
Let’s get ready to rumble! SR Fans vs. Kobayashi Jin & the animation staff of this series! Flame throwers are allowed!! 
Okay in all seriousness that ending sucked. I mean it was funny, but the way they had set it up it felt as if there might be SOME kind of resolution. But as most of you guys predicted, they didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, so they left it pretty much open ended as usual. (I can probably think of one person who loves this kind of crap though >_>). We begin the episode with a flashback to when Yakumo and Tenma were little and Yakumo got angry at Tenma for being a dumbass.
The flashback involved Tenma ruining Yakumo’s favorite book. So Tenma then ran to the library and brought her another one (although at the time Yakumo thought the book was a new one that Tenma had bought from a bookstore :lol:) Anyway Yakumo tells that ghost girl that she wants Tenma to be happy because Tenma is always caring about Yakumo. Meanwhile back at the ranch, Harima is like 1 mm from kissing Tenma until “Karasama-kun” escapes her lips. With this Harima gives up and suddenly Tenma awakens. She then finds out that Harima is that “hentai” from last time but before he can explain himself and confess to her….his cel phone rings.
It’s Itoko telling Harima that Karasuma won some kind of soccer champ award, but the word sounds similar to “accident” so they think that Karasuma got into an accident ^^;. Tenma and Harima rush to the hospital and end up in an accident of their own. Tenma however is glad to see Karasuma until she realizes that he wasn’t in an actual “accident.” Harima at this point feels that his love is over. The next day in school Harima is ready to give notice to drop out.
The next day Harima tries avoiding Tenma but she runs after him through the school. She finds him on the roof and it turns out she forgot the whole incident about him being the “hentai” and being on top of her in bed etc. LAME. So yea thanks for the reset ending guys. She tells Harima to get well regarding his arm (that he broke cause he got hit by a truck after saving Tenma lol). She also gives him a video tape of that anime that they were talking about. The end is the “beginning” of the 3rd season and everyone has a pillow fight. Yea. I don’t know if there will be a season 3 of the anime since I heard the manga is ending soon.

Didn’t tougo mentioned something about “sangakki”, just hearing that I probably think there is going to be one x_X, I think I just stick with the manga, I know that if they do a season 3 its going to be half manga related and half fillers so bleh .
oh yes, another thing, how in a school they have so many pillows o_o, *hires hitman…*

I heard him say sangakki as well but at the end it was all like “thanks for watching us for such a long time, school rumble will still continue” but i dont know if thats just a reference to the manga. but yea you’re right if there’s another season, itll be mostly fillers anyway
Just like the first season’s ending. DX They need to start hooking up all of these characters. Now.

I kind of wonder if the manga-ka has any idea how to end it…after 52 episodes Harima still is obsessed with Tenma, and Tenma is obsessed with Karasuma. While Yakumo and Eri’s feelings towards Harima have grown throughout the series, Harima’s and Tenma’s feelings really have stayed static since the very beginning. It’s going to be hard to resolve everything in a convincing way where no one’s acting out of character–as long as Harima’s been obsessed with Tenma, if she winds up with Karasuma I can’t picture him diving into Yakumo or Eri’s arms, unless those relationships get developed further than they have so far. I love the Sukuran anime even if we never get a solid ending, but I hope we get a third season now, if it’s well-done a third season that resolved everything could just be incredible.

In the manga, somehow now it’s getting “serious”, Mikoto and souo aren’t going out anymore. Harima is getting popular in making manga :D….
*sighs* i still don’t know what he is planning though T_T but i hope suou ends up with yakumo’s friend *i forgot her name O.O*

the feelings between karasuma/tenma/harima are so solidified it seems rather odd for them to suddenly turn 180 degrees but some mangakas do that to create a conclusion but i have a feeling like with tenchi muyo…we will never know
Lol. I kinda see the whole Harima/Tenma/Karasuma “relationship” as something similar to that of Belldandy and Keichi. A relationship that’s technically the core of the series, but in reality stunted as the secondary characters take over.
More and more I smell ‘Kimagure Orange Road’ Finale Movie type ending to the School Rumble Series. The darkest scenario: Tenma fights with Karasuma again ( Curry! ), Karasuma really leaves for USA ( season 1, episode 1 ), Tenma Heart broken, Harima Picks her up, Tenma likes Harima, Harima happy, Yakumo realize she is getting Zealous, Eri gets furious, Eri vs. Tenma ( Cue the music from Fist of North Star ), Harima arives at the scene, Harima surprised and confused, Enter Yakumo, She confess, Rumble on the Hill ( The school is located on high grounds ), Eri cries and leaves ( She is the easiest out ), Tsukamoto Civil War ( Cue the music from Raoul vs Ray ), Harima hospitalized from blows from all three fighters, No dinner for you Sis!, Let me In ( Eri ) , War to end all wars, Conclusion?!
I take back everything I posted above. After further analysis, I rate the chance of 3rd season, probably 13 episodes dealing with the 3rd semester, very high and probably will air from about 6 to 9 month from now. Contrary my hope for apocalyptic ending, nothing will be resolved, status quo will be defended at the end of season 3. Takano can be awful scary, but I am convinced that Karasuma is the strongest person in the School ( Stonehendge! ) I wonder what would happen when Harima gets mummified again because of Tenma X Karasuma relationship and, instead of Eri, it was Yakumo who tries to comfort him.

wontaek: Oh i have no doubts that if there was a 3rd season they’d resolve nothing. in the end i realize i value school rumble for the purpose of entertainment…no longer the actual story ^^;
LOL! I’ve never seen this show but after reading your post I am convinced I wouldn’t enjoy it! I don’t like animes with an actual storyline!

Too slow, too obvious, and too boring (for me).

Sukuran is suck, like 1st season this last episode full with dissapoint, well perhaps it still good anime ever i watch thanks Hinano we will meet again in the future at season 3, if its realy exist.

I mean, the Yakumo x Tenma story was cute and touching, but did we really need to see that on the final episode?
Honestly, I’m tired of Tenma chase Karasuma around all the time. They need to either get together or he needs to tell her off. At that point, Harima should be good boy and get with either Eri or Yakumo and leave her in the dust. I’d be like: “Oh hohohoho! you lose!” to tenma.
As for a third season…yeah there probably will be one. Good thing I watch the show for its comical value and not its relationships or I’d be kinda pissed with this open ending.
yea i learned a while ago trying to watch the show for anything other than comical value will really make you hate it

Moments in where there is absolutely no character development (and thus anime fodder, and a waste of space) have been put in place so as to break the continuity. After all, this series is quite popular for its random scene of comedy, but surely something as incongruent, as unimportant as a scene where the animators (in the context of the series, anyway) lack ideas is seriously in need of a break. Clarity and comedy should go together, as far as this series is concerned, like shampoo and conditioner. [...]
Seriously… I love almost all of the characters in the show almost all of the time, but there are a few exceptions: Tenma (all of the time) and Harima (When it’s about Tenma). Great series, hey, some of the best humour ever, but too bad the main romance sucks. Most of the time I’m just waiting for scenes with Harima and Eri, or with the girls all together, etc. I wish there was some clever filter that would automatically skip the boring pool of stagnancy that is Tenma’s relationships.
Bleh is that it as an ending? How wasteful. As the story progressed I started to hate Tenma. I mean come on! What kind of person would fall in love with a 16 year old with a 3 year old’s mind! (And shes undeveloped) How could Harima stay in love with Tenma when he has Eri and Yakumo. Bleh she is a brick-head for god’s sake! If there IS a 3rd season. I want it to be about Harima X Yakumo VS Harima X Eri. Tenma…hell with her, stupid girl is just a nuisance now! Make her go with that weirdo Karasuma to America. Karasuma is not a cool character either! I hate him. He looks dumb, he doesn’t even look like he can fight, and he is just…geeky! No one can fall in love with that ugly thing!. I agree with Guruhoro. I skip the boring Tenma and wait for Eri X Harima or Yakumo X Harima. Meh, I want a Season 3. No more Tenma! The comedy was great though…THE BEST ever.
I have to agree with the majority of opinions here about the ending. I’ve watched the first two seasons back to back, and it’s fairly obvious from the first series that Yakumo and Eri are attracted to Harima.
What I’d love to see in the third series is Harima ending up with either Yakumo or Eri, and for Tenma to find out that it was actually HARIMA who saved her, and not Karasuma (if I remember rightly, this was the reason she fancied him in the first place). Would love to see her reaction to that, especially if Harima is already with someone else.
Unfortunately I don’t think that the emphasis for any 3rd season will be on character development. But then again, I’m a big fan of the comedy in the show so I’ll keep watching.
Oh, and I’d love to see EVERYONE’S reactions to fining out that Takano is some kind of super spy/bodyguard.
