My Boss, My Hero - 10 (Finale)

Published by Hinano at 8:30 pm under My Boss My Hero, ■Drama/Live Action■

Another one bites the dust. I’m sorry to say I didn’t like the ending of this either. The stuff I wanted resolved….wasn’t resolved and the way he “graduated” made no freaking sense. So anyway that gang comes to the school and even after Makio begs them to leave, they attack the teachers and Makio’s classmates. Makio can’t take it anymore, and suddenly his anger evokes an actual rainstorm, and he beats the crap outta all the gang members. This gets him thrown in jail, expelled from school and the inability to graduate.

While he’s in jail, Minami-sensei comes to visit him along with Kazu and that other guy. She tells Makio that he was her student and even if he is a Yakuza, she will always see him as her student. He starts crying and appologizing to her because she put so much effort into him and yet he failed her in the end. That night he looks at a photo of all his classmates from the school festival and cries himself to sleep.

Hikari and Sakurakouji visit Makio’s house right after he packed all his school stuff into boxes. They sit around but Makio’s homeboys seem to constantly be interrupting and evoking angry behavior in him. This scares them so Makio suggests that they take a walk outside. They walk around and say how he’s still their Makki and even if he’s a Yakuza boss, the time they spent together was not a lie.

Later on everyone graduates except for Makio. When the sensei is in class with everyone and their diplomas, she reads an excerpt out of the exchange diary she had with Makio. The excerpt basically talks about how when Makio first started school he wanted to beat the hell out of some of the guys in the class but then he changed his mind and how he had a good time (and we saw lotsa flashbacks). The whole class began to cry and 4 of the guys (one of them bein Sakurakouji) ran out to find Makio. Then found him at the Pachinko machines and dragged him back to school where everyone was like randomly standing there and cheering him on. As he ran into the cafeteria, Minami-sensei was there to give him his diploma and congradulate him for graduating. Excuse me but what the fuck? First all the teachers are like “lets forget about him” and “he cannot graduate” and suddenly they’re giving him his diploma and cheering him on. Wtf? Right.

So yea that was dumb. Makio becomes the mafia boss but at the initiation he says wait hold on a sec. Then we see random shots of all the 3-A students at college and how they’ve grown up. What pisses me off is Sakurakouji is with a girl and its NOT Hikari. Wth? Why lead us on acting as if he was finally gonna admit his feelings for her, and asking her on a date, and then have him with another girl?! I’m also disappointed that Makio didn’t end up with the sensei. OH yea speaking of Makio, he decided he’s gonna graduate properly so he’s back in high school again. I hate endings that “reset” like that. Bleh.

Final Thoughts: Bleh. :( I hope Sapuri has a more fulfilling ending than this.

I guess its too much to ask for a decent/good ending for a drama…

I’ve seen over 30 dramas and there have been dramas that had good endings..its just these 2 weren’t one of them unfortunately. I’ve seen Johnny fangirls like cry and say this ending was so wonderful but its probably because they are blinded by the actor, rather than the role he is playing in the story

You know, all though they didn’t tie up any of the loose ends, it was alright. The only thing I was miffed about is that they pulled an “Attention Please” (see last season) and just totally chucked any possible romantic happenings. booo on them! At least in the end Maki and the class realized how much they changed each other. Nagase did well in a comedy role this time out, but I prefer him in a bit more dramatic fare. This isn’t a drama I will probably remember beyond next week, but it was fun. They probably could have done a better job with the ending, though. It still beats TnU.

i actually liked the ending… though not what i expected. somehow i feel the ending was like that because of a possibly the producers wanting to milk the series more by producing a special or even a sequel following the korean movie. but that’s just wishful thinking on my part

if there was a special that’d be awesome XD

Actually it was one of the better dramas that I saw this season.

Just one comment… the girl Sakurakouji was with at the end was Hagiwara (Umemura’s friend). They took the same college exam, and was accepted into the same school. I think that pairing is kinda fitting, since somethng tells me that Umemura will never see Sakurakouji as anything more than a friend.

the ‘diploma’ his sensei gave him is not a real diploma. he was congradulated from graduating from the CLASS, not from the school. thats why only the names of his classmates can be seen in the so-called diploma.

agreed with above…also..sakura-something and hikari went to different universities, we knew that all along. so of course he’s not going to be walking with her.

i think the ending was realistic. it’s not exactly a shoujo drama so you’re not gonna see ridiculous pairings out of nowhere.

i agree with some of the others, i was actully satisfied with this ending, even if not still a bit iffed for not knowing what happens after.

I agree with the graduation part. It didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me, but I guess it was kinda necessary to create a sense of an ending or a close, ya know?

And of course, I was kinda bummed out not to see the pairs that I *thought* were going to be together like sensei and makki, but that could just be my squealing girl side.

And yeah, I thought realistically, him going back to high school was realistic since he didn’t do so well, but yeah, it wasn’t very satisfying to see…

And so, all in all, I wouldn’t say one of my favorite endings. But I don’t know, it still kinda works for me.

    :)

Finally finished this. Ewh. Reminds me of that American movie “Pretty in Pink”. You think she’s gonna end up with her friend, but nooo, she ends up with the guy you didn’t want. None of the pairs I wanted happened. :/

Although I adored the series, the last 5 minutes of their college life kinda bummed me.
