My Boss, My Hero - 08
We’re about to hit the turning point of this drama.
Sakurakouji comes to Makio’s house. Crap. They set an alarm off and have all the Yakuza hide between lockers, in closets, behind painted walls etc. XD Makio manages to trick Sakurakouji but the guy’s still a bit suspicious after Makio basically “dumps” Hikari. Sakurakouji tells Hikari that Makki still likes her, but he has a secret and that’s probably why he broke up with her. Hikari also volunteered to help Makki with the school festival because she got accepted into the university she tested for.
Makio says he wants to do a band for the school festival. The class doesn’t wanna do anything since they’re not required but he says he wants to end their final year with a bang. With the help of Koki (whatever his drama name is XD) who threatens the guys to help, other classmates agree to help as well.
It turns out a few of them can play instruments and everything is okay….except that Makio can’t play drums for jack. The class is completely out of harmony and they almost quit but Minami-sensei convinces that if they just act as ONE everything will be fine. Makio spends a lot of time at home practicing his drums as well. The guy who serves him tells Mikio that he can’t be on his side because watching Makio try so hard really inspires him.
While practicing one day, Makio realizes that the class is 27 but there is supposed to be 28 people. It turns out that long haired guy is missing. Makio goes to his house and basically drags him over the shoulder into the classroom. The rest of the classmates make him feel like an ass by saying they’ve been waiting for him. With that the practice resumes and eventually it’s time for the school festival.
The funniest part for the school festival was at the beginning when Makio’s dad and his kobuns walked in, 3 girls in cat ears and maid costumes walked up to them and gave them posters saying “irasshai nya!” The posters said “MOE” on it and the dad read it going “Moe?” LAWL I fell off the couch laughing
Anyway when they walked into the auditorium, Makio’s dad saw the school nurse and they smiled at each other for a while and she bowed. I guess there’s some kind of relationship between them that’s yet to be revealed. Anyway the band festival seems to go well except in the middle of the song, one of the disks on the drums comes flying from the stage but the long haired guy manages to pull everyone together to continue and finish the performance.
Coincidentally, the day of the school festival is the same day as Makio’s birthday. Even though they don’t win the contest and Makio appologizes, they bring out a cake (with candles for his real age ) and sing happy birthday to Makio. Makio is so moved he starts crying and says “God damnit I love you guys!” After winter break they show year 2007, and it looks like Mikio has become the new boss?? Or is he temporarily pretending until Makio graduates from high school? I’m rather confused on the ending of the episode. They also show another gang and some guy is like “The son of that gang is in high school so now’s our time to strike.” So yea looks like all hell is gonna break loose next week.
Upcoming Attractions: All hell breaks loose…while Makio studies for his final exams.
