If this is what they call “Adult love” then Japan can suck it. At the beginning of the episode Ishida & Fujii are all lovey dovey and he asks if he can start calling her “Minami”. She is all giggly at first but then becomes pretty uncomfortable and tries avoiding this “aura” at all costs. Also it appears that Ishida is applying for I think a full time position at the company as an actual employee rather than just part time help. To do this, he has to write an essay on why he should get the job but he can’t come up with anything because he’s too busy trying to figure out why Fujii is avoiding him.

When they go to meet the president of a phone company for their next promotion, Ishida is dressed like a bum and Fujii is so embarrassed she asks him to wait in the lobby. He runs into Eita who sees him holding a date magazine and pokes fun of Ishida. He later says a nasty comment to Fujii about it, and Fujii gets mad at Ishida accusing him of “telling” everyone. Ishida says he didn’t tell anyone, and he asks if she’s that embarrassed for it to be known? Ishida then walks away and throws the date magazines into the trash. In the meantime, Imaoka’s daughter has been sending faxes to the office for the OL lady who broke up with Imaoka to read. She wants them to get back together and won’t stop sending goofy love faxes until they do so.

Later during a meeting people start discussing terebi-denwas (TV phones) and they get on to the topic of your ‘first confession’. Eita says that he doesn’t feel there’s a need to say “I love you” and it should be understood. Ishida pipes in and says that he wants to say I love you to the person’s face hence why a TV phone would be good. Imaoka stops the meeting and tells Fujii to give Ishida a lecture afterwards. She then tells Ishida that he’s not serious, he hasn’t written his essay and he doesn’t think much of himself. She says that he needs more confidence, and for now his “I love you’s” are empty to her.

So then Ishida gets a speech from Imaoka regarding Fujii’s review of him. It basically says he’s lacking in every department, except the “heart” because he always puts himself for the need of others (such as in this episode he ran to buy that one guy a toy train for his son because the guy forgot it was his son’s birthday.) Imaoka tells Ishida that kids say “I love you” and adults “Work”. Ishida decides to take things seriously and he writes his essay. The next day he gives that OL chick a package and urges her to write and essay to and try to “move up” within the company. Later that day, Fujii reads the essay and is really happy….so happy that she agrees to let Ishida come over her apartment that night. That night after leaving work, Fujii runs into the OL chick. The Ol chick says that Fujii has everything and she wants her to at least give her Ishida back. Ishida in the meantime has a bag of condoms (i think rofl) and is soakin in the rain waiting for Fujii to come home.

Upcoming Attractions: Probably because he was in the rain so damn long, Ishida caught some kind of a cold/flu and it’s up to Fujii to take care of him!
