Finally something fresh. The new arc begins and this time there’s no dejavu and/or repeated animation footage. The arc solely focuses on Rena and is actually from Rena’s POV. Actually after this episode, I’m starting to like Rena! Anyways, it starts out with a goofy watergun fight between everyone. Keiichi and Rena end up fighting between each other and jokingly Rena says “If you lose you owe me a date”. I think this is some kind of foreshadowing to an actual fight between them ;). Anyway they both tie, so the others have to face punishment. The punishment that is…they all have to dress in goofy outfits and be waitresses at the ice cream restaurant. Rika gets to wear the outfit Shion wore, Mion wears a Neko-mimi bloomer outfit (:lol:) and Satoko just wears a traditional maid outfit.

After that day, Rena and Keiichi are walking home. It’s starting to rain but Rena says she wants to stop by the trash dump to look for some stuff and they part. When she goes there, she climbs into an abandoned van which appears to be furnished with toys and other old items of Rena’s. It starts to rain and she sits there gloomy and recalls her past. Her past is, that her parents got divorced and started seeing other people. Her mother got pregnant with a guy she was seeing so she decided to divorce her father and move in with the guy. Rena got pissed and refused to acknowledge her. She ended up moving in with her father, which I guess it explains why she has moved back to Hanamizawa. Unfortunately for Rena, her father is currently seeing a woman named Rina, and he tosses out all this old junk and buys new stuff for her. One of the old junky things includes that KFC statue that Rena wanted so badly in the first episode.

One day Rena goes to the cafe and she overhears some guy talking. The conversation goes along the lines that he wants money and he starts speaking to a woman about how she’s doing with the “guy she met in Hanamizawa”. Rena isn’t sure but she has a hunch and her hunch is confirmed when she sees Rina is the one who was with the man. She’s really shocked but when everyone’s walking out of the restaurant she notices they all say hello to a tall man in a black suit with sunglasses. That man happens to be Shion’s “bodyguard” and then Shion walks into the restaurant after him. She notices Rena sitting there and calls to her.

At the restaurant Rena asks the bodyguard if he knows anything about the man or the woman he was with. He tells her that he sorta knows them but it’s not something he wants to discuss. Rena yells and demands that he tells her so he does. The man is (if you haven’t figured it out by now) Satoko’s uncle. The woman, Rina, who is Rena’s father’s girlfriend/fiance/watever, is his whore and he is her pimp basically. She knows that Rena’s dad has a lot of money in his bank account and that’s what she is after. Shion explains to Rena about how he gets her to do the dirty work and that’s how he gets money. After Rena hears this, she rushes out of the restaurant and follows Rina. She sees her parting ways with Satoko’s uncle and then walking away without realizing Rena is watching her.
