Happy New Year!…but it’s August. Harima should just take off his sunglasses, and wear his hair like in the screenshot here, and then maybe Tenma might actually look his way. The episode begins with a corny Initial D parody, but not having seen Initial D I only got the jist of it with the racing cars and the license plate initials. Tenma has a dream that she kisses Karasuma-kun, while Harima has a dream that Tenma hugs him. Both come true, in some odd way or another.

Tenma runs into Karasuma (well rather she trips into him ) and he tells her to be careful…and then ends up spending the day with her. Harima sees this and gets pissed off but then Mikoto asks him to do the dancing dragon (or whatever that thing is) for her and it turns out he has to do it with Eri. They argue at first but then come to an agreement and eventually Harima ends up stalking Tenma & Karasuma all through the festival.

So then Harima finally sees the two on a cliff at sunset. Karasuma asks Tenma to close her eyes and leans forward as if to kiss her. Harima can’t take it anymore and he jumps at Karasuma, who with his super alien powers flips Harima over the cliff. Unfortunately that takes Eri with him. Karasuma ends up giving Tenma a hairpin and says that it matches her Kimono. In the meantime, Harima is appologizing to Eri and carrying her on his back while climbing back up the cliff. Eri forgives him and says “kotoshi mo yoroshiku” (which is like hard to translate but it literally means ‘take care of me this year’).

Afterwards they show everyone playing a bunch of different new year games. This one game they play what looks like some weird Japanese ping pong or something. The loser has to have their face painted with ink. Eri challenges Yakumo and even though Yakumo refuses at first, she decides to play when Eri says “you can’t do anything anyway”. Yakumo wins but instead of her face getting painted, Eri forces Harima to take the punishment since he was the one who flipped them over the cliff. Harima agrees but Yakumo doesn’t want to paint on his face, so she paints him a muoustache instead :P. The next day there’s a kite flying competition and Harima & Hanai get it on again but Hanai’s string breaks and he flies off through random places the rest of the episode….and we see some dude’s crotch again.
