Sato’s mom is coming to visit him, and he has to figure out a way to show her that he is not a dameningen hikkimori (aka a societal reject for the Japanese impaired.) Oh yea Sato’s been home for a while these days because he caught a cold or something and he’s been seeing talking home appliances again. Anyway Misaki (who magically has his phone number) gives him a call saying she’s gonna charge him $100 (I think thats what it converts to?) for not showing up for the counseling. He tells her that there’s no time for that right now because his mother’s coming.

Sato’s biggest concern is that if his mom finds out that he’s a hikkikomori, she’s gonna make him come home and leave Tokyo. He panicks because he lied to his mother that he works at a company and has a girlfriend. Misaki offers to act the role of his girlfriend but before he hears her he runs off to find Yamazaki. I first thought he was gonna ask Yamazaki to dress as a woman but he asks Yamazaki to help him make it look like he works in a company.

They try to do various things for their “game company”. Things like making up a name, making up a commercial jingle but in the end they decide that a business card should be enough to convince Sato’s mother that he has a job. It’s not as if she’s gonna go visit his office right? They make a business card with the stupid green haired character (whatever her name is) and aside from that it look pretty realistic. Misaki enters and says “You forgot about the girlfriend part.” Sato panicks and calls up his senpai from high school but she says she already has plans (at a love hotel) with an aquaintance.

Misaki repeats one last time that she will be his “fake” girlfriend instead. She also makes Sato go on a date with her so that he gets “used to the feeling” and there’s no awkwardness in front of his mother. She takes him to various places and even at one point we can tell that she gets sick of his cigarette smoke (in which case he notices and stops.) At one point she suggests that they link hands to look like lovers. He agrees but when she does so, his hand gets pressed against her boob and he starts having all sorts of wild imaginations until he eventually walks into a pole. That night Sato says that Misaki knows a lot about him but he doesn’t know anything about her. She makes up a story about her her grandpa is French and named George something. She then runs off and he’s like “WTF?” because she knew his name, birthday, phone number, parents’ names etc.
