My Boss, My Hero - 03

Published by Hinano at 9:33 pm under My Boss My Hero, ■Drama/Live Action■

Kimatsu test time! Does it LOOK like I'm okay? Kimatsu tests are important tests for seniors in Japan because if they do not score above a 30, they will not graduate. Upon hearing this Makki freaks out because not graduating means that he will not become the leader! There’s also a little side story with the “bullies” who take his money and pick on him but he vows that after he graduates he’ll beat them to a pulp.

Test anwers or your life! Makki tries to study but ends up getting pissed off (and beating up) his tutor. He then tries to sneak into the school and steal the answers but apparently the answers are electronic (lol modern technology) so there’s no “written” answer sheet. He then tries to bribe one of the teachers to get the answer but the teacher misunderstands and thinks he has a crush on him.

Group study session Sakuraoji feels bad so along with that girl (forgot her name) they help Makki study to prepare for his retake because he fails the exam. The reason he failed is aside from the fact that he didn’t study, during the exam he pretended he was playing roulette and would throw his pencil at the question and pick his answer based on where it landed. ^^;…oh boy.

Hello, my name is Bob. In the end I’m not clear on whether Makki’s combined score reached 30. I think they decided for his english test they’d give him leeway. I just thought it was damn funny that they got a white dude to speak pretty good Japanese. Well that’s good, at least they don’t see us as random idiots who just say “HELLO I AM COWBOY!”

Upcoming Attractions: Makki falls in love?

Actually that was the teacher he wanted answers from.
His tutor, he growled at and threw out (literally) from his house.

Stumbled upon your blog while looking for more info on My Boss My Hero (MBMH). It turns out you are watching all the same dramas I am this season - Sapuri, MBMH, and Taiyou no Uta. (I’m also checking out Dandori). Per your suggestion, I think I’ll look at NHK ni Yokosou.

As for MBMH, it’s not the best but it’s funny in an anime/manga sort of way.

Yea it really is. I guess that’s kinda why I watch it because I’m not a big fan of Nagase Tomoyo. However, I think he is great in this drama and hey it’s funny to see some more than 2 Johnny’s in a drama that have important (somewhat) roles ;)
is Dandori that cheerleader one? I was gonna check it out, but it seemed like a “girl” version of Waterboys (replace water with cheerleading) so I didn’t bother.

Yeah, Dandori is the cheerleader one. It’s a lot like Waterboys, H2, and all those other “plucky students band together to become champions” stories. Though formulaic, I like these kinda dramas.

Hehe I do too but I ended up skipping over H2, and I think since my own high school days I’ve always disliked cheerleaders XD
