Anime otaku + hikkikomouri = Episode 2. This show is awesome. It totally looks into the lives of hikkikomoris and anime/eroge otakus so I think a lot of bloggers can probably relate to this show. Frankly I am highly amused by it and will definitely be blogging the rest. So we are left off where Saito and Misaki are at the park and she asks him to sign the contract that she will “rescue” him from being a Hikkikomori. Saito denies this and runs back home calling himself a liar.

She says she will wait for him at the park same time the next day to come back with the contract. He at first decides he’s not going, but then he imagines a scenario of some pervert flashing her and violating her and causing her to go on national TV and blaming him for it. He panicks and then runs to the park only to find her sitting and petting a cat. She asks him if he has the contract but he’s babbling on about how he’s not a hikkikomori and starts making up tales about how he has an office job that requires him to be home all day and that he is a software designer. Misaki looks at him blankly and says that she will meet him again tomorrow at the park and asks him to one more time bring the signed contract.

That night he’s had it with the annoying anime music playing next door so he comes (or rather barges) into the neighbors house, only to find out its the kid who he tried to save from being beat up in high school 4 years ago. They have beer and chat and the kid says that he’s gonna enter college to be a game creator. It turns out though, in college kids still pick on him because he’s a hard core anime/game otaku. Saito takes one of his game creator pamphlets and brings it to Misaki to prove to her that he is a creator and she asks to see one of his samples. He says he doesn’t have one ready and that it will take him a month to have anything to show her. She tells him “okay then I’ll see you in a month”.

Coincidentally the kid sees him in the park, and so Saito is forced to spill the bean that he’s a hikkikomori for the last 3 years and isn’t in college and has no job. Saito begs to use one of his game samples but the guy tells him that he just started so he has none. He says, however, that they should create one. Saito is a dame ningen so he can’t do anything but the guy forces him (literally) to at least write up the scenario. In the end Saito asks “So what is our game topic going to be on?” and the guy answers “Eroge” (hentai game). The episode ends with screenshots of the otaku’s random erogames and Saito saying “Somebody save me!”
