This episode generally stayed true to the manga but I have a few little things to mention in the update. For those who haven’t seen it yet the basic summary is Haruhi goes to take a part time job at her father’s friends Inn. Her father’s friend is also a gay crossdresser. (this is going to attract spam bots I can see it now :roll:) She thinks she is going to have a nice break from the host club boys, until Tamaki feels its his fatherly duty to come and harass her.

Honestly the anime doesn’t cover half the fathercon Tamaki has over Haruhi. It only seems to be slowly dripping out in the last few episodes but in the manga he’s been on it for a WHILE (hence why he often called Kyouya as “mother”). The little difference in this imaginative scene is in the manga Tamaki had a shirt on. Do rich people sleep nude? Is this some kind of Japanese assumption or is sleeping in the buff supposed to turn on the FYG’s watching this show?

Here we get to see Tamaki’s piano playing skills. Perhaps this is a hint of why the Host Club was created in the music room? I personally felt the manga portrayed this scene better than the anime did ^^; I also felt that the Kaoru x Hikaru scene was better done in the manga. The roses I think just overdid it. I often feel their use of random flying petals and flowers is a bit overdone. It only works in manga like Card Captor Sakura but it doesn’t work in the anime unless they are potraying a corny joke. In this case, I felt the anime didn’t go deep into the fact that Hikaru was seriously worried about Kaoru. I know they showed the whole hand shaking, but it felt like the point got accross better in the manga.

I also would like to point out I love the anime for makin fugly looking manga faces look REALLY GOOD. The only exception to this rule is Tamaki because he looks good in either one. (And the look of Haruhi in the next episode makes her look like a guy with ponytails….while she actually looked like a female in the manga.)

Coming next week: Haruhi and Hikaru go on a date because Kaoru wanted Hikaru to stop acting like he’s got a 40 foot pole up his ass (haha no pun intended :lol:). I don’t get the hair style, how did she get hair like that? Her hair isn’t long enough to style like that, and they made it even LONGER in the anime, so it looks like she slapped 2 hair extensions to the sides of her head.
