For those folks who ever wondered where my nickname Hinano came from…its from the girl with the green hair and the red school uniform ;). Anyway as this episode felt like a direct ripoff from Trouble Chocolate episode 11 (aired sometime in the year 2000) I felt the need to do (yet another) comparison post. The basic plot of the episode is a Racoon comes to thank Keita for saving his life 3 years ago, and gives him “love medicine” which after taken, the first person who sees him, will fall in love with him. Keita is okay at first with Youko being all over him, then he imagines her getting pregnant…with puppies

Why is this a direct ripoff TC? Take a look! In Trouble Chocolate 11, Cacao messed up a magic spell and cast a Makahore spell on himself in which anyone who looked into his eyes would fall in love with him in a similar fashion to Keita’s medicine. In the above screenshot is random schoolgirls all over Cacao, but Keita didn’t get so lucky as he got grannys instead.

Anyone who looks into Cacao’s eyes falls in love with him and gets those hearts in their eyes, similar to the end of ep 15 of Inukami where Keita ate every pill in the bottle and the entire world ran after him. This included males and females, similar to what happened to Cacao.

The love spells in either series are not sexist of course. In both also the protagonist had a big muscly guy (or guys in Keita’s case) after him. All of this + the fact that both Hinano & Youko have green hair, aren’t human, are in love with the protagonist, and have special powers give me a sense of deja vu. That’s okay though, I still love both shows, but probably leaning more towards TC as it came first
