Moustache Gai for real! There was a fanclub created on the Narutofan forums called the “Moustache Gai” fanclub where they drew a random moustache and slapped it together in photoshop….and perhaps a member of the Naruto animation crew who can actually read English was one day browsing the forums…and that’s how this episode was born!! Basic summary is Lee decides to create a dojo to fight opponents to improve his training. He almost drags Naruto into it, but Naruto runs into Gai-sensei who says he will help and he “disguises” himself by putting on a moustache and fro. Then the animators decided to try to make a plot and added some “spy” who disguised himself as Gai (but filler enemies just never learn *see the previous GaiLee episode filler), got his ass kicked by Lee, and then disguised himself as Lee only to get his ass kicked by Gai. The highlight of the episode was probably when Naruto temporarily disguised himself as “disguised Gai” and then used Kagebunshin and transformed into a bunch of Sakura’s that promptly kicked Lee’s ass.

The only other notes for this episode is they changed Sakura’s voice actress. I didn’t check the credits but unless she’s been smoking crack, that’s not her. I wonder if that’s the reason why Sakura’s almost never in the fillers? Her seiyuu is too busy with something else?

Upcoming Attractions: A repeat of the ghost warrior arc but this time with Hinata & Kiba instead of Team Gai. Oh fun.

This episode sorta flew by me. When the credits rolled I sat there going that’s it? Mainly because I suppose there was only about 4 actual “scenes” and the breakup scene probably took up half the episode. The direction was amazing. Nana’s “I don’t wanna see your face” was rocking my socks. I also liked Jun-chan’s maturity saying that both Shouji and Nana are her friends and she can’t keep siding with one or the other.

I dunno what happens in the manga but Hachikonana better not suddenly start having a mad crush on JrockNana’s ex or I’m seriously dropping this series. XD

Oh and by the way, Mr. Manwhore is 15. Wow, do Japanese women have a shota complex?

This episode generally stayed true to the manga but I have a few little things to mention in the update. For those who haven’t seen it yet the basic summary is Haruhi goes to take a part time job at her father’s friends Inn. Her father’s friend is also a gay crossdresser. (this is going to attract spam bots I can see it now :roll:) She thinks she is going to have a nice break from the host club boys, until Tamaki feels its his fatherly duty to come and harass her.
