I have developed an obsession with this show. I also think this show is better than Honey & Clover. The mood is exactly the same, but the pace of the show is much faster which is what makes it better! Anyhoo, I could probably sit here and go on endlessly of how wonderful this show is, and how every second leaves me on the edge of my seat because you just never know what Yano’s gonna pull outta his butt. Instead though, I recommend to just watch it, so for now enjoy my rough summary.

The story is basically that Nanami chooses Yano to be on the school festival committee with her but he’d rather bang his head against the wall then give a crap which really pisses her off. She also has a chance to see a photo of his ex-girlfriend in their junior high school yearbook. She then tells Yano she likes him, and asks if he likes her. He says “suki” but she says “not just like, but REALLY LIKE” and then he answers “I don’t know”. She tells him that she doesn’t want to go out with him if he doesn’t know.

Later on her way from the convenience store she runs into Yano’s friend (i forget his name) and he invites her and her friend to join them for dinner. Yano’s pimping a bunch of girls there who are total bitches and start making fun of Yamamoto (also known as Nagato Yuki no. 2) and saying that it’s because of her that her sister died. The atmosphere gets heavy and then Yano says that it’s no big deal and tells Nanami that they’re not in school and she should stop acting the way she is. Yano gets pissed (yet again) and baps him on the head with her bag, storming out of the restaurant. She then realizes she left her wallet there and when she’s about to go back for it, Yano brings it for her. He offers to walk her to the bus stop, and as they’re walking he tells her that he hated his girlfriend because she was with her exboyfriend at the time of the accident. He then later claims its a joke but it obviously isn’t. For some reason, Nanami blurts out that she wants to take purikura (sticker photos) with him so they go inside and take a goofy pic.

The next day in school he’s acting like nothing happened and ignoring his festival duties making Nanami mad and saying that she takes back the fact that she confessed to him. While on her way to the student council meeting to decide rooms for the festival she gets sidetracked and talks to Yano’s friend about how she can’t stand him, but Yano was right under the window sill listening to all of it. Because of this, she forgets to go to the meeting and the next day all the rooms are taken so her class has no where to do their play. Yano knows that part of the reason she got sidetracked is his fault, and since he is also part of the committee he marches to the student council and gets them to re-do the room assignments so that their class has a room as well.

Ok I know it’s like 100% predictable and it’s really obvious that probably next week or the week after they’re gonna fall in love blah blah but this is the kind of crap I love! I don’t care if its the most recycled plot in the world, this is a style that I like, and whether it’s redone 20 times I’ll still watch it. The animation isn’t like super high quality, but it really gives the MOOD of a shoujo manga, hell it almost makes me feel like I’m reading manga when watching this show.
