I have developed an obsession with this show. I also think this show is better than Honey & Clover. The mood is exactly the same, but the pace of the show is much faster which is what makes it better! Anyhoo, I could probably sit here and go on endlessly of how wonderful this show is, and how every second leaves me on the edge of my seat because you just never know what Yano’s gonna pull outta his butt. I typically only read Japanese manga but because Japan decided to obnoxiously make Chrno Crusade Volume 8 out of print (yet other volumes are readily available!) I had to wait 2 years for ADV to release the English version so I’d have the complete set. I had actually read the “last volume” from the magazines scans someone posted….BUT there was a special conclusion chapter that you could only read if you bought the tankoubon…so that’s how I came to owning the English volume 8.

But I got some Beef. Why the hell is the English version smaller than the Japanese one? Does this manga not deserve to be in its rightful size? Or is this a money making scheme to later re-release it in its proper size. Here’s a photo of the ADV volume 8 I received, next to my copy of the Japanese volume 7:

Tenma’s birthday…part 2? Can someone who reads the manga clear up why there are 2 episodes dedicated to Tenma’s birthday, one with a party and one without one? Cause I’m confused. So during the party Harima asked Tenma to come outside so he could give her flowers he bought for her. However, he noticed she was upset so he pretended to write the note from Karasuma (because he wasn’t at the party) and gave the flowers to her claiming Karasuma asked him to pass them to her. Tenma, for once, had a brain in her head and figured out it was Harima who did it, and as she got dragged back to the party she smiled and said thanks to Harima. Continue Reading »
