School Rumble II - 13
Am I the only one who still watches this show? I think it’s bloody hillarious! One of the few rare shows that actually make me laugh out loud.
The first segment deals with everyone busy studying for exams. Those who do not study, have the “teacher” ghost haunting them…basically everything they see/do has this ugly teacher’s wrinkled face on it. So it attacks Harima and he’s seeing everyone’s faces (and his lunchbox) as this teacher. He goes to Itoko for help and the first thing she does is shoot him in the head (literally) and tells him to study.
So he does and the ghost goes away from him…and instead haunts Tenma.
Desperate for help, Tenma begs her friends to study with her so they do a group study session. They ask her what she knows but she doesn’t know jack and when they ask her what she’s been studying…she gives them a long story of how everytime she tried to study she fell asleep or got distracted doing other things (like watching TV.) They’re about to leave and she continues to beg again so they try their best one more time. At the end of the session, Eri and Mikoto are half dead and Tenma seems to have absorbed the information into her head…until Eri pokes her and all the information deflates and flies away from her brain.
Mikoto suggests that the best way to learn is to associate the subject you’re studying with the person you have a crush on. This gets the girls suspicious about Mikoto and her supposed “crush”.
The next arc was a short bit parody of the Grudge I believe? I never saw it but I think that’s what it was. They saw a monster in a pool but it turns out that it was Harima’s giraffe who ran away from the zoo.
The last part is the girls all having a pajama party (slumber party I suppose), to celebrate them finishing all their exams. They start to pry Mikoto about her “date” with Asou-kun. Apparently what happened is they were gonna buy something at a shop that was closed so instead they went to a burger place, a bookstore and then a game arcade. Throughout the whole time when Mikoto was telling them what she did or how she answered his questions, the other girls would raise (X) signs telling her that she was not being herself and acting the wrong way. In the end what I found most interesting is that during the race game Asou was playing, Mikoto said “I thought you only liked stuff like basketball.” And he was like “Hey that’s mean. You know I have other stuff I like, besides basketball” and he was giving her that “hey baby I got the hots for you” look.
Another offtopic thing here but I’ve been testing various forms of spam protection lately so if you can’t comment, it’ll probably be fixed eventually. It’s hard finding people to help me test these things ![]()

I watch it. I read the manga too. Coincidentally, I just bought volume 13 of the manga today.
But the lack of subs are killing SR season 2. Not lack of sub per se, since there’s Yourmum subs but most seem to be ignoring them.
Is that what it is? Lack of fansubs? That’s a shame since this anime is so good ;_; I’ve yet to read the manga but I do have a few volumes that I’ll be checking out eventually.
YourMom subs are unwatchable, they put in pics that are not in the original show and they are distracting. WF subs are still the best. Unfortunately, they’re notorious for being slow (season 1) and with the incident with their server who knows when they’ll be able to release again.
For me the lull has to do with the fact that i’ve been watching Wannabe’s release of School Rumble II. I’ve avoided yourmom’s releases because i’ve heard that their translation quality isn’t as good as WF, but with the fact that now i’m five episodes behind I’ve been having second thoughts. Still, i’m not in as much of a rush as i should, since i’ve had the scanlations to tie me over.
Is the manga on track with the anime?
Maybe thats why their group name is Yourmom
I haven’t looked at it yet so I’m not sure what’s goin on there.
Wow they add in pics? Wtf?
“Hey your fansubs suck!” “Oh yea? Your mom!”
WF is back on track now, and hopefully should start catching up in a bit.
Part of the problem with S2 is the original story material from the manga that covers Ep.8 to Ep.13 was a little weak - there’s a lot of one shot chapters that don’t exactly flow together in the way that the earlier story arcs do. We should be getting a major plot twist in the next few episodes, though, which will be much more on par with Season 1.
was there actually a plot?
the only “on going” plot I saw was the relationship between harima, tenma, eri and yakumo (and maybe karasuma)
besides that it was all a bunch of randomness
There is a plot, but it’s woven inbetween a lot of one-shot sidestories.
