Thanks to Ayyo for posting the raw This is the final episode for this arc. When I first read on Wikipedia about Higurashi (back in the first arc) it said this was the “most depressing and shortest” arc. It turned out to be the most boring and the longest. Okay so yea it’s depressing that a little girl got cursed for playing hide & seek in the wrong place, but in the other arcs everyone’s “life stories of why they became killer lolis” was depressing too!

Keiichi went to try to kill Satoko’s uncle one more time, this time wielding an axe. He ended up finding Satoko making Sato-Soup in the bathtub and quickly took her out. Then he started to carry her in a bathtowel (couldn’t he put at least a tshirt over her head?) to the hospital. She quickly regained her consciousness and he also found out that the baseball coach comitted suicide via sleeping pills. (Oh that’s so 50 years ago!) Satoko insisted she was fine, and asked Keiichi to take her to Rika’s temple because her clothes were there. When he got there he was going “It’s ironic that everyone I wished death upon dies.” Then he started blubbering like a crazy idiot that he killed Satoko’s uncle. (by the way this was NOT RESOLVED where the hell is her uncle!?) Satoko asked him to put her down and ran inside Rikas house…in the meantime Keichi noticed a bunch of crows flying around the praying area. When he walked up the stairs he found a dead/naked/bloody body of Rika. (Not posting a screenshots of that crap in this blog sorry :))

Keichi starts wacking at the crows with his axe, who are trying to eat her remains…and he drops it into her pool of blood..when he picks it up, coincidentally Satoko shows up again and sees dead Rika, and Keiichi with a bloody axe. What else is one to think? So she freaks out, calls him a murder and starts running away with Keiichi chasing after her yelling that it’s a misunderstanding and that he did not kill Rika.

They get to a bridge that’s above a huge river but it’s up real high. Satoko is hysterical thinking he is going to kill her, and Keiichi tosses his weapon over to prove that he will not. She then asks him to turn around and place his hands on his head and tells him a little story of how when she was little she played hide & seek with Rika…and she chose (out of all places) Oyashiro’s temple to hide in. She accidentally fell in, saw all the torture devices, saw Oyashiro and when she tried to climb out, she ended up breaking something (i think a part of the statue’s hand? I couldn’t tell) on her way out. After that Rika got whipped by her father (?) because since she is in “charge” of the temple I guess she takes the punishment for it. Satoko being the good friend that she is just stood outside the door and watched.

So after Satoko finished her heartwarming tale, she went psycho-loli on Keiichi (but not as cool as Psycho Shion or Psycho Rena) and pushed him off the bridge. He almost fell to his doom but caught on to one of the ropes. By this point Satoko’s mind was made up that Keiichi was posessed by Oyashiro who was “acting” like Keiichi and so she started shaking the bridge and he eventually fell off with tears in his eyes.

Sometime later, elsewhere, on the news apparently like everyone in Hanamizawa is dead because of some kind of gas poisoning? But the only person who survived was Keiichi..and there was a shot of him being rolled on a hospital stroller with a breathing thing on…then suddenly the TV went black.

Stuff Still Not Resolved:
1. What happened to Satoko’s uncle?
2. Who killed Rika?
3. Where did Mion and Rena go? I mean damn Rena was part of the whole Satoshi thing so wtf?
4. Where the hell is Satoshi?? I mean I know he was a rotting corpse in episode 9 but…in this one Keiichi was like “Satoshi is that you?” (I see dead people?)
