Wow that was terrible!
So I do admit some of the content was accurate to the manga/anime. I never read the manga I just watched the anime and according to wikipedia it was generally the same except for the ending. But really couldn’t they have picked a better cast? Okay so I know we can’t compare humans to anime characters but since the majority of Japanese girls have ROUND faces and the anime Chise has a ROUND face why in the god’s name do you pick a girl that has an oval shaped face? And Shuuji! Dear lord it’s not that I think  anime characters are better looking than real people but could they have picked an uglier Shuuji?? No offense to whoever that guy is, but there’s a ton of good looking man meat in Johnny’s Entertainment, couldn’t you have picked Akanishi Jin, Kamenashi Kazuya or even Hideaki Takizawa?? Not that the anime Shuuji was hot or anything but honestly, this guy looks like some guy they picked up off the streets of Oosaka or something.

Ok here comes the WTF’s.
 Ok wtf is this love scene thing? If I recall correctly, they couldn’t MAKE love because inside she was no different than Nuku Nuku. And then they started talking about how they’re gonna have kids. Kids, what kids? Wasn’t it a big issue in the anime that her body was being taken over by the weapon robot personality and she didn’t even have organs to have kids anymore. (Well that solves the birth control problem in the meantime :))

Ok wtf is this? Did this happen in the anime or am I having a brain fart? I thought she “destroyed the world” in her regular form, not turn into some kind of a mix between a space shuttle, a gundam and the end of evangelion Lillith? Inside the robot though her figure between the wires somehow gave me nostalgia of some kind of Utada Hikaru PV.

The ending didn’t make any sense to me. I got the part that the war was over (according to Shu-chan) and he was walking in a dessert (well I guess that’s the equivalent of a blank white screen in the anime) and he runs into the big piece of Chise’s wing. Who knows her body may still be in there…..or maybe it was cause like 5 seconds after Shuuji goes “I found you finally!” they show the screenshot above of them back at school everything normal exchanging their little diary and holding hands. I don’t get it. Whatever symbolism there was it flew over my head like a seagul and pooped a deus ex machina ending on me.

Overall I give it a 1 star…because the 3D weaponry effects were just damn nifty.
